Title: Marmaduke Post by: UnSub on April 11, 2010, 08:47:37 PM There is a "Marmaduke" movie coming out later this year. You know, Marmaduke, the big destructive dog in a comic strip that is never ever funny. That one.
Marmaduke is being voiced by Owen Wilson. Because what Marmaduke really lacked was an internal monologue. Title: Re: Marmaduke Post by: Riggswolfe on April 11, 2010, 09:21:58 PM I like Marmaduke but it won't make a good movie. I just don't see it. You know he'll be CGI and probably stop some robbers or something.

Bigass CGI dog stopping robbers would have been a ten thousand fold improvement over the shit they decided to go with.Instead, we get 200 Pound Teenage dog. Moving to New Neighborhood. Dealing with all the typical social problems of "highschool" (the local Dog Park). Also, rediculously stupid mass cgi dog dancing. http://www.themarmadukemovie.com/ View trailer at own risk. Title: Re: Marmaduke Post by: Khaldun on April 12, 2010, 05:59:38 AM I'm not clear how anyone could "like" Marmaduke the comic strip, which consists of the same basic joke retold day after day after day after day. But ok. It's clear that the movie exists in a completely different cultural hellspace that makes the comic strip look like Little Nemo in Slumberland in comparison. William Macy must have a helluva a house payment he has to make to appear in a film about a CGI dog where he gets hit in the nuts *at least* twice (two in the trailer alone).
Title: Re: Marmaduke Post by: Cyrrex on April 12, 2010, 07:26:24 AM Wasn't Marmaduke not even technically a strip, but just a dumb one-scene circle thing? Not even a proper comic. I can't imagine there are any young kids left on the planet who even know who he is, and surely there aren't many adults who'd want to see this.

16,1% is still a decent target audience. Title: Re: Marmaduke Post by: Tebonas on April 12, 2010, 08:05:04 AM They shouldn't have canceled Pushing Daisies. Oh how far Ned has fallen.
