Is that the name of a mission? I don't remember names, but if you explain the details, maybe I can help.

First OG Loc mission, right?

For me, as soon as I finished the dancing, I hopped into the van and started driving right away. I headed the way the van was facing, drove along the beach a little, and ducked up one of the narrow passages between the houses. As long as you have a bit of a lead on the cars behind you, they'll get lost a bit trying to follow you once you've gone past those houses.

From there, just keep a good speed along roads, and let the cars chasing you screw up by hitting other cars or getting lost.

yeah.  I can't through the dancing part.  It gets going a bit too fast for me.

Save at a good location for reaching OG, and just keep doing it over and over until you finally get the patterns down.  Mostly it's a matter of matching button to floating glyph automatically, without having to think about it.  Helps if you shift your grip on the controller so every button is a different finger (index and middle of both hands worked for me).  I had to do that damned thing over 20 times before I finally passed it.

You're too old to play video games. Take up lawn bowls or something. :P

Seriously though, that mission is easy as pie for me. First time I did it I wondered if it was possible to fail it. You want hard? Try calibrating all the lightning towers in FFX-2. THAT is hard. But yeah, my brother sucks at these things too so it must just be something you have or you don't. Thus I can't give you any advice beyond just keep on trying.

Also, if you don't have it already you need to be very familiar with the controller and its symbols. If you have to think whats what you will lose. Again, nothing for that but trying again and again.

Did you manage to calibrate the final tower?  The super impossibly hard one is the only thing I wasn't able to do in FFX-2.  That damn tower isn't even fair to human anatomy - the buttons appear onscreen for what appears to be a tenth of a second.

Skill challenges cease to be fun when you make no progress after an hour of practicing.  Now it sounds like I'm quoting Raph's crappy new book.

>_<

No, I have never managed the last tower. I got up to 27-28 a fair few times but the last few go so fast I can barely see them let alone press them. It's amazing they even thought to put that in. I once tried for 2 hours to do that one goddamn tower ($100 bet... which I lost) and I still couldn't.

Same here on the only thing not done, the difficulty is just so far and above everything else in the game it's insane.

For all of the dancing missions, the easiest way for me to do it was to sing/say all of the buttons as they were about to float by.

It helps that I am pretty into old soul and R&B, otherwise it would have probably been more difficult.

While this is solid advice, I cannot reccommend strongly enough that you watch the circle, instead of just listening to the beat of the music. Some button presses are as much as a half-beat off the timing of the music. If you can't help trying to follow the music, consider even muting the TV.

The dance clubs are also a great place to practice without having a failed mission hanging over your head. If you score high enough, they eventually change the club tune to "Nothin but a G Thang" by Dre and Snoop, which is not only a much easier beat, but the button presses are all pretty well on-time.

Bring the noise.

My advice on the dance missions:
 - know where the buttons are instinctively
 - never look up, just follow the bottom of the screen
 - generally start hitting the button before the icon hits the circle and press the button firmly

Personally, I did this mission first try. Wait till you get to the ambushing the Russians in the hotel mission, where you get chased by the truck, that one took me about 20 trys.

Oh and note, if you have trouble with the dancing, your going to love it when your first girlfriend wants to hit the club every other date.

My first girlfriend just wanted to go get drunk and fuck.

My first girlfriend in GTA did too, but she also liked doing drive-bys for "fun".

Bring the noise.

My second girlfriend lives in the middle of fucking nowhere, and all she wants to do is go to restaurants - which are all 50 miles away.

Then when we finally get there, she just bitches me out.

I stole her dune buggy and dumped her.

I've had 3 so far....the gangsta bitch, the grease monkey, and the psycho armed robbery chick who leaves you for the main character from GTA3.

I've been stuck a while after just getting the airstrip, been trying to get all golds in flying school so I can get the attack copter, and the "circle the airstrip" tasks have a very tight time restriction for gold.

Plus, I've been gambling, buying properties, and doing side stuff like snapshots and finding horseshoes.

All that plus, UT2k4 (PC), Rose (PC), NBA Live 2005, and a bunch of rentals, mostly ones I can play online with my buddy (he just got his network adapter at Xmas).

Bring the noise.
Cheers..............

In a sad reflection of my life, I've dated all 6 girls to 100% in GTA:SA - the policewoman, the nurse, the mechanic, the hillbilly, the casino worker/latex fan, the gangsta hood rat. Each of these characters give you access to a car, and for the non-storyline ones (the first 4) extra armor, health, free paintsprays, and extra weapons.

The nurse is my favorite. She loves it when you crash the car - something I can't stop doing.

I was awful at this one.  Many, many tries resulted in a top score of just over 2000.  My wife pointed out that I have no rhythm, so I muted the sound and passed on the first try with over 6000 points.
