Title: Questions about Riddick: Dark Athena Post by: Azazel on December 26, 2009, 08:08:46 PM So I bought Butcher Bay on PC ages ago, but found the controls to be rather heavily consolized, so I barely got past the first area before losing interest.
Dark Athena is on Steam for cheap, but it has TAGES, and WTF is going on with their activations isn't clear - looks like you get 3 installs, plus another 3 after that in 30-day intervals? Quote After activating the third time your product using TAGES a 30-day timer starts. After 30 days you will get that activation back up to 3 total activations. I've also seen it on consoles for cheap (not quite as cheap as Steam) but without any of that TAGES activation bullshit. Playing Borderlands on console has gotten be used to the console FPS control scheme, and while it's still not KB+M, it's nice on the big screen, and if something's all fucked up on PC, then I don't want to bother with it on PC anyway. I'm wondering if anyone has played it on PC or console and has any infos on how well it works on either platform? Haven't played it on the PC, but I'd assume that the same issues with controls would exist.
Title: Re: Questions about Riddick: Dark Athena Post by: schild on December 26, 2009, 08:35:34 PM Dark Athena is basically another campaign as far as I can tell. And the original, which was already polished, has been given a mean shining.
Edit: I played the original on PC and uhh Xbox? I think. I played Dark Athena a bit on the 360 and PC. PC is better on all counts. Title: Re: Questions about Riddick: Dark Athena Post by: Azazel on December 26, 2009, 08:45:47 PM How's the control as far as consolization?
Also, does my attempted translation of that TAGES sentence quoted from Steam seem to make sense, or does it seem to mean something else? Title: Re: Questions about Riddick: Dark Athena Post by: schild on December 26, 2009, 08:48:22 PM Some of the menus are pretty jank, but the controls are completely customizable as far as I can remember. Actually recently installed Dark Athena on Steam, I just haven't gotten around to playing it.
Tages is stupid but not very invasive. And yes, you covered it. |
