I know we have quite a few developers here (and I couldn't find a better place to post this). 

If you need or want a copy of Visual Studio 2008 Professional, go here (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/152375/Microsoft-Visual-Studio-2008-Professional-Edition/).  I think Office Depot has the wrong price for it in their system, as they list 08 Pro for $101, while 08 Pro Upgrade is $550 and 08 Standard is $250.  For those who don't know, 08 Pro is usually around $600.

Mine has just so they are shipping it at this price, but we'll see how long it lasts.  Just wanted to give a heads up.

Ah didn't realize that, my bad.  What are the specifics of the academic license anyway?  Is there a "no commercial software" clause?

Yes and sometimes they require you to jump through hoops proving your academic status in order to activate the product.

To be fair it doesn't say it is an academic edition it just says it is the academic pricing for this product.  It might not be locked into all the prove your eligibility to activate crap, not really worth the risk though.  Also, the next version of VS is right around the corner.
