Title: IceFrog (Current Dev of DotA Allstars) running a team at Valve (to make a game) Post by: Nonentity on October 05, 2009, 10:51:16 PM http://www.playdota.com/forums/blogs/icefrog/264/great-news-dota-fans/
I can imagine that with Valve backing it, this will legitimize the hero defense genre in a lot of people's eyes. Title: Re: IceFrog (Current Dev of DotA Allstars) running a team at Valve Post by: schild on October 05, 2009, 10:55:13 PM I'm confused, what does legitimizing have to do with it?

More people playing the genre = more games being made in the genre = more better everything EDIT: Well, okay, for clarification, this just means good tidings for the hero defense genre as a whole, but yeah. Still good news. Title: Re: IceFrog (Current Dev of DotA Allstars) running a team at Valve Post by: Rasix on October 05, 2009, 11:13:19 PM Hero defense is a genre?

Title: Re: IceFrog (Current Dev of DotA Allstars) running a team at Valve Post by: schild on October 05, 2009, 11:28:06 PM Hero defense is a genre? It's hard to characterize. Not really RTS, not really strategy, not really action. Giving it its own genre is probably the easiest way to handle it but might not be the best.Quote Why would Valve give this guy a team to develop new content for DoTA? I don't get it. Maybe they want him to make a new game? Most likely a new game, yea. That's the plan.Title: Re: IceFrog (Current Dev of DotA Allstars) running a team at Valve Post by: Margalis on October 05, 2009, 11:57:27 PM Edit: :oh_i_see:
Title: Re: IceFrog (Current Dev of DotA Allstars) running a team at Valve Post by: Samprimary on October 05, 2009, 11:59:04 PM IceFrog has been a real treat. Patient, methodological, consistent, and hardworking. Out of all the challengers to the DotA throne, I would be most interested in what he would make.
