IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1097643/) Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmQU9R1wYNE) Yes, you'll have to deal with his horrible moustache during the whole movie. The boy also wears white socks with black moccasins. Your reward: very well done violence, including an excellent kneecapping scene. Also has yet another generic IRA drama story attached, which includes family and a baby. Quote McGartland asks: “They are saying it was based on a true story, but what is the definition of ‘based on a true story’? Is it 50% true, 70% true, 10%?” He contends that the movie is fundamentally a lie that misrepresents his career and his motivation. He believes that if Kari Skogland, the director, had stuck closer to the account he gave in his book and in a BBC documentary, then she would have had a better film. From my understanding of the true events, they were incredible enough that they didn't have a good reason to make stuff up. I saw Five Minutes of Heaven (http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi30736921/) recently which I can't recommend enough, very powerful. |
