In what can only be a joke on CCP's part, the very first match of the tournament is -A- against IAC. Also interesting is that xXdeathXx, Atlas, IRC and Sc0rched Earth are on standby but not actually in the tournament. Razor reportedly stole our set-ups from our forums and Bob from Marketing used that to troll them into bringing a set-up that we could easily counter. For example, the Goon Ravens were using torpedoes, which you wouldn't normally see in the tournament.

Its set up so that if you barely scrape past your round you get loads of points, but if you achieve a flawless victory (such as, from what I hear, -A- vs IAC) you score low points...

In a full Swiss tournament, I think it doesn't really matter. In a partial Swiss, partial single elimination format, I think maybe it's a bit fubar. Yet BVs setup happened to be a perfect match for the ROL setup. Torp ravens and various other stuff vs the BS heavy setup ROL brought and enough ECCM on their side to rule out ROL's widows. Aside from a two minute hiccup back in April I've been enjoying an uninterupted internet connection this year, the occasional power outage not included. Yet today my provider decided to do 'something' which resulted in about a two minute break between the commentators saying 'OMG PL is fielding an all minmatar speed setup' and Stevie saying 'that was just awesome' once the match was done... Guess I'll have to catch it on the youtubes tomorrow. Probs to the commentator who asked to see it again, he got my hopes up.
