I liked at the beginning when Madden was asked if he thought Miami had a chance to win, and he said, "No, but they have a chance to play them close." I'd never heard that out of an announcer basically SAYING another team was screwed before the first snap. He'll have to suck on that one for a while.

Well shit, who the fuck thought Miami could beat ANYONE, much less the Pats? I'm sure that's part of why they won. It's the freaking Dolphins, a team stoners won't even play for, with an interim head coach and a talent pool this side of junior varsity. Their overconfidence, as well as the most depleted secondary in the NFL is what caused this loss, I'm sure.

Brady throwing 4 picks doesn't help either.

Heard second hand of a guy who bet $1600 to win $300 (or so).  If true, it sucks to be him.

Stupid bet anyway.

GO STEELERS! Home field advantage, baby!
The downer is that it looks like the other reward for being the #1 seed will be that you get to play the Colts instead of the Jaguars.

I'm hoping Buffalo stomps the Steelers ;)

Well, just because I'm going with a Steelers season ticket holder, will be in the middle of Steelers season ticket holders, wearing a Buffalo jersey (Bruce Smith, bitch!).

So if you don't hear from me in January, you'll know what happened...

Falcons are getting a bye, which once again proves the NFC has no business playing football this year.

The Seahawks, Rams AND the Arizona Cardinals all have a shot at winning the NFC West with a 7-9 record. 7-9 division winner. THAT proves the NFC isn't playing the same game, if nothing else does.

God help the AFC if Indy somehow gets a first-round bye, though. Like if say they won out and New England lost 2 straight. Though, now that I think about it, I'm not sure that's possible.

The Laws of Football dictate that you cannot say things like 'the NFC representative has no chance!' in a thread discussing the fact that the Miami Dolphins beat the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.

It has a chance, if its Philly or Vick+10. The wildcards are going down in a blaze of uncontained suck if they luck their way into the show against the likes of the AFC.

My wife is from Buffalo, and a big Bills fan.  Hopefully, the Steelers will win and/or the Pats will lose next week.  At that point, the Steelers-Bills game will have no meaning for the Steelers (though it might mean a playoff berth for the Bills) and we can play our scrubs, the Bills can win, and everyone will be happy.*  If we meet in the playoffs, all bets are off.  Our marriage was strong enough to survive a 7 game Pens-Sabres series a couple years back, so we'll pull through somehow.

*I'm not saying the Bills could not beat our non-scrubs.
