Oh mah dear LAWD. It must be mine, as John Kovalic would say. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: schild on July 16, 2009, 12:47:27 PM Oh how cool. Serious wow factor at a few moments.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: HaemishM on July 16, 2009, 12:49:09 PM That is a pretty damn awesome looking trailer.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: jakonovski on July 16, 2009, 12:54:58 PM For some reason it reminds of Another World (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgkf6wooDmw).
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Threash on July 16, 2009, 12:59:51 PM Holy shit that's incredible.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: SurfD on July 16, 2009, 01:48:13 PM Words.
I have none...... Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Ingmar on July 16, 2009, 01:55:37 PM It reminds me of World of Goo, looks-wise.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Draegan on July 16, 2009, 02:06:44 PM Neet.
Brings back memories of buying 3.5" discs with Commander Keen and other games. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Soln on July 16, 2009, 02:10:27 PM God.Damn.
That sure pushes a few buttons. Kicks Spore groin wise. (first thing that came to me) Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Stormwaltz on July 16, 2009, 04:44:25 PM Ah, I thought the style looked familiar. (http://www.gagneint.com/Final%20site/insanelytwisted.com/main.htm)
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Amarr HM on July 16, 2009, 04:54:29 PM For some reason it reminds of Another World (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgkf6wooDmw). Yeh I got touch of that off it too, with a twist of world of Goo. Looks awesome. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Engels on July 17, 2009, 10:11:17 AM I don't get it. Its a side scroller. Trailer has fierce music, and the art is nice.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: schild on July 17, 2009, 10:30:52 AM Side Scroller isn't a genre. Maybe that's where you're having a problem?
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: CharlieMopps on July 17, 2009, 10:41:09 AM I'd play that for the music alone.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Engels on July 17, 2009, 10:42:14 AM No, its not a genre, but its a game mechanic/style/whathaveyou. Maybe I just really shouldn't have posted here, since I don't think I understand the love for "2-D" side-scrolling games at this stage of gaming complexity.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: nurtsi on July 17, 2009, 11:10:18 AM Looks like a remake of Solar Jetman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaTJAw0QDH0). That game rocked :awesome_for_real:
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Mrbloodworth on July 17, 2009, 11:51:06 AM I'd play that for the music alone. Dimmu Borgir (http://www.dimmu-borgir.com/) Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: jakonovski on July 18, 2009, 02:55:49 AM No, its not a genre, but its a game mechanic/style/whathaveyou. Maybe I just really shouldn't have posted here, since I don't think I understand the love for "2-D" side-scrolling games at this stage of gaming complexity. Mechanically, a 2D platformer can do most of the stuff that a scripted 3D shooter does. It's just that this one has divine art style and evokes the atmosphere of genius games of the past. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: MournelitheCalix on July 20, 2009, 07:37:25 AM I'd play that for the music alone. No kidding, I am looking up the band right now. I hadn't heard of Dimmu Borgir before and I listen to a lot of NuclearBlastEurope's featured music. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: murdoc on July 20, 2009, 07:42:40 AM That game will kick my ass.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Modern Angel on July 20, 2009, 08:22:20 AM It's not real. It was a leaked demo to a group of venture capitalists. Meaning that it probably won't get made.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Ghambit on July 20, 2009, 03:29:18 PM This looks like it was derived from the Experimental Gameplay Project.
Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Mrbloodworth on July 23, 2009, 12:05:57 PM It looks like most of it was done with swift3D.
Great style however. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Tarami on July 23, 2009, 12:57:23 PM I'd play that for the music alone. Dimmu Borgir (http://www.dimmu-borgir.com/) Reminded me to link you Bloodworth a song, so here's a derail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWG-7S5NOXA Play it in high quality. Local band, thought you might like it. I certainly do. Title: Re: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Post by: Samwise on July 23, 2009, 01:01:58 PM Reminds me of Cybernoid for some reason:

Local band, thought you might like it. I certainly do. I can't put my finger on who they sound like. Well, the non-throat parts are throwing me off. Not sure how some of you don't know Dimmu Borgir, they are almost the pop of Black/death metal, well, in popularity and style. Jörgen Sandström (ex Entombed / Grave, Krux, Vicious Art) Loved me some grave, especially You'll Never See..., and soulless. Game FINALLY released on XBLA a fews days ago. Of course, I dont have my 360 with me now and cant play the damned thing, so I dont have any meaningful input. Reviews are stellar as expected though. And there is a trial. Enjoy and report. |
