Title: Entropia claims 200k users and property that sells for $26k
Post by: eldaec on December 18, 2004, 12:32:26 PM
Some lazy journalism...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4104731.stm

200k users actually turns out to be 186k downloads of the client since launch.

$26k is actually 260k in entropia currency, the scary bit is that the player presumably had the option of actually withdrawing $26k in cash instead of making the 'purchase'.

As I've said other places, I'm in the wrong fucking bidness. This is Information Superhighway Robbery. Entropia is a pyramid scheme with a game as interface.

186k client downloads. Yep, count me as one of those who downloaded and never paid a cent for their walking simulator.

I hate people that spend money on Entropia and Second Life. It's just goddamn insulting to developers who actually add in the "game portion" of the MMORP...well, the developers that at least TRY....anyway....
