Idle threat? Sabre rattling? Serious consideration? You be the judge.

It's not even sabre rattling. It's just PR. by 2010/2011, a price cut is guaranteed. Not to mention Activision hasn't made a system seller during their lifetime as a publisher. Suddenly going exclusive wouldn't matter. And the Bl part of Blactivision doesn't matter even one iota in this new flavor of drama. Oh, right, also, Kotick is a gasbag that has quickly turned Activision into the EA we once hated. It's all quite shameful.

Edit: Seriously, short of Infinity Ward and Neversoft, Activision is laughably bad. Bizarre Creations might matter if they get their shit together. They don't even have a great catalog of third-party stuff. So, yea, just a lot of hot air and trying to leverage his unimpressive weight on Sony. No matter what he says, they'll never remove the Guitar Hero franchise from the console.

Have you seen the sales on the last two Call of Duty games?

Yeah, I have. They're the Madden of the last 2 years. The vast majority of them were sold on the 360. It's not a game that's going to break Sony worldwide. Like I said though, doesn't really matter, Kotick is just trying to make himself look like a hero by saying this crap every six months so that when the inevitable price drop comes, the mouthbreathers of the world will praise him for having "balls" to take on Big Bad Sony.

CoD4 sold, what? A million units on the PS3? That's pretty substantial.
