Title: Neverwinter Nights Post by: NiX on June 17, 2009, 01:42:19 PM Couple of friends and I are picking up Neverwinter Nights to play. I was wondering if there were any modules that are somewhat long in length that would be good for multiplayer. This is my first time playing NWN, so I have no idea about the gameplay.

(I think thats what the call the big bundle of crap nowadays) If so, I'd just play the ones it comes with. Aside from the normal story, which can be played multiplayer, and the 2 expansions, I think it also comes with 2 or 3 other quality modules.
Thats what I'd suggest to start at least. Title: Re: Neverwinter Nights Post by: Ingmar on June 17, 2009, 03:16:49 PM To clarify, are you getting NWN or NWN2?

I can get lost in that shit. The ratings are really misleading though, because people give things a 7.5 if they think they suck. You can generally tell if you're going to like a module in the first few minutes. Just about every module can be finished in a few hours, so the only really long campaigns I've found are by Bioware. The first one was interesting, and the rest were merely ok. Out of the player-made modules, the old school ones tend to be the best. I really liked White Plume Mountain and the Slave Lords series. Slave Lords was very bare-bones maps-and-monsters, but I played it solo, so I wonder if it would be more interesting with multi-player and a DM involved.... Title: Re: Neverwinter Nights Post by: Dion on June 18, 2009, 02:41:20 PM I liked the Hordes of the Underdark, at least the first and second chapter. Three was alright.
Title: Re: Neverwinter Nights Post by: koro on June 18, 2009, 02:59:05 PM There are a few good, long single player campaigns for NWN1, if you can't find many good ones to play co-op. My favorite happens to be the Aielund Saga stuff. There are a few others swear by. There was a big link on the official forums for a while - dunno if it's still there - that has a big list of similarly-themed modules that people think should be played in order. I think there may be some entries for multiplayer stuff too.
Edit: Here (http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=498930&forum=66) is the forum thread about it, and it does indeed include some multiplayer stuff. Really does kick in for Hordes of the Underdark, also I loved my character "Aslas" he had some shit cool dual wielding alpha blades with some serious HP regeneration.
Never tried it multiplayer. |
