Title: Online game for a netbook at work?
Post by: Roentgen on June 02, 2009, 11:19:08 PM
Hey.  Work is slow as fuck tonight and I have my netbook.  I'm looking for an online, preferably free multiplayer thingy to waste time with that will run on a netbook.  Any ideas??   :drill:

Looks interesting.  If it plays like Worms I'll prolly love it.

I was thinking Puzzle Pirates.

Dude you just reminded me of a story someone told me in Second Life the other day.  He's an artist, right.  He would paint furries bowling and sharing fucking milkshakes with 2 straws and shit.  You know, dressed up like Grease characters.  Yeah, he's flamingly gay.  Anyway, he said when he joined Second Life he thought "yay, I can be a furry!" not knowing what furries are actually like.  He said the first furry friend he made told him about how he has a pony and he invites local people over and they fucking gangbang  his pony.  So now this person no longer paints furries and is an avid anti-furry.

I think I just derailed my own thread.

Wow, how the hell does that conversation go?

"Hey Frank, why don't you and Jim come over next Tuesday? Gary is going to be there, and we're all going to fuck my pony! What? No, it's not a euphemism for anything. I have a pony and we're going to put our dicks in it. Oh, you're busy that night? Well okay, see you in church!"

EDIT:  Speaking of Second Life and stories, some time you need to document your trolling adventures. That bit with the live musical performance and the 40 foot tall goatse hat was epic.

Yeah, I think it was like... people in the massive furry community in SL that lived fairly close enough together to well.. get together and gangbang a horse.  I got the impression it was some dude that was talking about fucking his horse and some people said things like "hey, i live 2 counties away, I could come by!" and "Two states away, horse-fucking road trip!"

Holy fuck, when I first read that I assumed you were talking about playing out zoophilic fantasies in Second Life not an actual pony.

Are you sure they don't mean a pony like pony-play? People who get off being ... I dunno what to call it put in horse stuff. Leashes, pull carts, and that stuff. (Sorry, I have no idea of equestrian terminology, I loathe horses.)

Not my thing, but I know it's pretty popular.

Jesus thats a derail! Here's a great online game (http://www.hasbro.com/mylittlepony/default.cfm?page=Entertainment/Ponyville) you could play.

The impression that I got was that it was a REAL pony.  When you think about all the shockingly depraved shit you hear people doing, it's not completely unbelievable.  I find it slighty less disgusting than someone cutting off a kids head and having sex with it but that's really happened.

SOOOO.....

Gunbound.  Any highly recommended browser MMORPGS?  Runescape runs but Runescape is teh ghey.

I rate this thread 5 stars.

I also love the idea that you meet some guy online and he just can't wait to tell you about his group bestiality practises. This is what MMOs are all about people - socialising!

I swear I didn't mean to derail this thread like that.

As it stands, I'm still looking for a game to fill my niche.  No pun intended.

Wasn't there some crazy Japanese MMO that was all about rape? I think you should play that, and then review it for us. Or maybe I'm confused and it doesn't exist. You should find out!

Pretty sure you're talking about Sociolotron, which is very much not Japanese. It's American.

Fuck, I can't get on Puzzle Pirates on the free wifi at work.  It's for the public, I work at a hospital.  I tried that zOMG shit too, no dice.  But I can connect at home.  Could they have this shit blocked?

Dude I know they could.  The question is... is it likely?  I mean it IS for public use.  Just wonderin if its more likely my problem or the wifi blockin' it.

I think WUA meant Rapelay. Don't think it was a MMO though.

Roentgen - how about one of the new browser-based MMOs. Would Free Realms or FusionFall run on your laptop? Not browser-based, but Wizard101?

He's talking about Soul Gainer: Excellent Rape Online.

Seconding UnSub's recommendation of Free Realms. It's like Puzzle Pirates with more crack added in.

Perfect World International plays fairly well. Framerate is kinda low but PW isn't as attention demanding as WoW is. I'm still a lowbie but just about everything I have to fight is initially friendly and nothing seems to aggro. Celeron 900-something processor and Intel GMA 950.

What kinda rez can you get on it? 1028 x 600?

I was thinking Continuum (Supspace), but with the low rez you'll get raped....might be your kind thing (if this thread is an indicator :)

Fun game.

Correct.  One = old single player PC game to play on an airplane.  One = recommended browser based mmoish thing to play at work.

I'll check out Perfect World.

I wish I'd read this thread earlier.  That made me laugh out loud just now in a pretty inappropriate setting.

Dude, I thought about that.  But recently.. just over a year ago actually, I played the living shit outta Discworld Mud.  And, like most MUDS, they delete your character after 30 days of inactivity.  So I really don't feel like starting over.

I was going to play the Awakened Worlds Shadowrun mud too but... meh.

EDIT:  Runescape sucks entirely too much cock to play under any circumstances.

Just curious, but aren't you supposed to like work at work?

I'm not familiar with how hospitals are run these days, but I hope that if I end up in one that the staff are doing something other than online gaming.

Hey douche, if there are no people to take cat scans of, what the fuck am I supposed to scan?

EDIT:  I just reread Rake's comment.  That is one ignorant fuckin' statement.  There are way more positions at a hospital other than ER and ICU nurses and doctors.

I'm a desktop support tech at a major university hospital. I did suicide ganking in Eve at work, but it didn't require that much of my attention. Way back in the day I would play Shadowbane and scourge the lands for runes then eBay them. Played some UO at work as well.

I love IT.
