Title: TF2 Meets Diablo

So, it appears we now have hat slots, and from the strings in the gcf files in the latest patch it looks like we're getting Diablo 2 style loot. Sounds like :drill: to me. They also gave the spy a third slot in the loadout, with his watch currently in the slot.

I'm tempted to try this again for HATS, trouble is I'll be asspounded into pixeldust at this point in the game.

Those look like just localization strings for the alternate weapon descriptions that are already in the game, and for a few mods they tried and decided against. Is there any evidence for actual loot aside from that?

The alternate weapons have an ilvl displayed, but I think that's been around since the medic update.

I don't think it's guaranteed we'll see all of those effects, but they wouldn't have left that data in the update if there was no possibility of them using at least some of it.

I do have the admin password and I finally figured out how to get the "banid" command to work, so if there is any hacking or other bullshit going on you can try to yell at me if I'm on Steam.  I'm not sure he cares enough to mess with map rotations but I intend to bug him about it one of these days.  The only thing that grates my ass is that sometimes the server gets stuck in a loop of cart pushing maps because of that stupid SM Vote system.  I much prefer the fixed rotation with a yes/no vote to skip the next map each time a change is coming.  It leads to a superior game.  Also it'd be nice if there were some nominate only map options for the long play sessions on the weekends though I don't know what maps to recommend  besides some Arena.

I have only ever used it to kick a few voice spammers and ban one obvious aimbot sniper.

@Sam:  Wtf, I was wondering who that was, I hate it when people change their names and avatar, confuses the fuck outta me.

I just deleted a bunch of people from mine, I limited it to people I actually knew/had played with more than once.
