Title: Resident Evil 4 + Stuff that isnt Resident Evil 4

RE4 seems to be taking more of a less-zombie oriented direction.

In fact the group of antagonists Leon is shown fighting in the trailer look more human, and certainly more coordinated. But still have that zombie-like thirst for your brain. Perhaps the game is taking a cue from 28 Days Later? Kinda freaky when the zombies can just SIDESTEP your gunshots.

The camera angles are totally different now, seemingly sporting behind-the-shoulder view. Which means that like Resident Evil Outbreak, the classic tank-style control scheme might be permenantly done for.

Oh, and there is some other shit. Crazy Japanese game developers.

Sounds like they turned it into a third person shooter.  That could be okay or it could royally suck.  None of the RE games I played would be any good as shooters.  They would have all been painfully easy and not scary in the least.  RE goes more doom while doom goes more RE.

I saw a preview for this in Gamepro. Why did they chose to do this on the GameCube? And why haven't they done any RE games on the X-Box, damnit! My fiancee loves RE games, and unless I buy another system, I'm SOL.

Because Nintendo, being smart, signed a deal with Shinji Mikami to make the Resident Evil series a Game Cube exclusive.

My that WAS mighty smart of them.

Well, at least I can get a GameCube for a pack of Necco wafers and some pocket lint.

And if the RE games end up sucking you can use your GC as a blunt object. What else is the handle for?

Hell yeah, the GC is dirt cheap, and this way you can get Zelda, Metroid, and Eternal Darkness.

Hrm. So rather than cut a license deal and get my $50.00 they get nothing. Sorry, GC isn't something ill buy. RE might be. I don't know. Exclusives are good when they are a killer app but that's rare. And even then - you let it go. See Grand Theft Auto.
