Leaning towards the Jackson as it plays the best action wise, but the Viper's pickups are quite nice. Plus my friend has one, so we could rock out with the same guitar. There are a lot of good things to get with that...Like more gear. Both Schecters and Vipers are very versatile and a good bang for the buck, but Schecter's are almost PRS quality in the sub-$1000 range. Shit man, I'm even thinking about trading in a Gibson for one. They're better.
Jacksons have the best feel and sound for speed and metal, but even with modifications, they're pretty lame for just about anything else (nothing against that, but it's nice to mix it up, don't you think?
