Three wasn't awful. I can see it getting much worse. Actually, three was pretty good until the faction AI starts going fucking nuts. Should probably get a fraps of that on youtube someday. Imo it's one of those gaming moments that should be experienced.

Any publishing contracts or licenses to publish in certain regions would be transferred over to Squeenix. At this point it shouldn't shock anyone, but Squeenix's relatively obvious main goal here is to become on of the top publishers in the world. Acquiring someone like Eidos is an exccelent step towards that as their numbers are DECENT, their games always at least hover above total crap, and finally, they publish a veritable fuck ton of games. That makes this a pretty smooth move on Enix's part. Too bad they'll probably step in and clean house shortly after the acquisition as it would seem to me that management at Eidos is largely a bunch of chuckfucks.

How is this a bad thing?

Tomb Raider could be a resurrected franchise if they did it right. Something more like what I've heard of Drake's Fortune, only crossplatform.
Kain could be a God of War-style game, since several in that franchise have not been far off that anyway, and hell, they could also "The Witcher" it at the same time with a second title in the game world.

Of course, this is without the decline into mediocrity that many people are saying that PoP is going through.

Seriously. Sands of Time was great, Warrior Within was shit, and Two Thrones was in between. The last PoP is better than Two Thrones.
