Title: Dungeon Party (Kinda Sucks) Post by: schild on February 27, 2009, 01:51:38 PM Game is open to all now. Someone come have a dungeon party with me. It's not in my pants. Yet. Name is schild. Tutorial was enough. Uninstalling. edit: forgot link, haha. http://www.dungeon-party.com/ Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: Xurtan on February 27, 2009, 01:57:09 PM For some reason all I could think of watching the video was that the graphic style would be fun for a new Dungeon Keeper game.
Disturbingly, this looks sort of fun. Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: schild on February 27, 2009, 02:02:15 PM Why's it disturbing? It's a diablo clone.
Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: Xurtan on February 27, 2009, 02:06:28 PM Eh? I didn't get any Diablo vibes from looking at it. How is it a clone of Diablo, other than possibly the click to move/attack? It sounds like you fight against an enemy team passing traps and monsters trying to be the first team to a treasure chest. Did I miss something? I suppose gaining points as you level to put them into a skill tree for access to new abilities.. Still not feeling it.
Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: Trippy on February 27, 2009, 02:07:21 PM Fuck that site is worthless for actually learning what the game is about.
Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: tazelbain on February 27, 2009, 02:07:59 PM WIkipedia just has a bare stub also.
Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: Xurtan on February 27, 2009, 02:08:40 PM *shrug* The art style is amusing, so I'll download it and mess around with it. Nothing better to do at the moment.
Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: schild on February 27, 2009, 02:13:49 PM Worst client ever.
Key features include: No Key remapping. No Resolution options. Runs like a dog. Monsters don't drop loot. I SAY GOOD SIR, THE IDEA OF A DUNGEON RACE AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE IS FUN, BUT THE FUN IS A PACK OF LIES. Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: Lum on February 27, 2009, 02:14:11 PM It does set a new standard in generic game names.
Perhaps next we could try "Shoot People", or "Car Racer". Title: Re: Dungeon Party (Kinda Sucks) Post by: schild on February 27, 2009, 02:15:07 PM Well, it seems to be a party game.
We can call it "Tabula Rasa" starting tomorrow if you want. Title: Re: Dungeon Party (Kinda Sucks) Post by: Xurtan on February 27, 2009, 02:49:47 PM Oddly, the thing I hated -most- was that it wouldn't let me use A to turn the camera the other direction, I had to keep using D until it came all the way around. Meh. Fail.
Title: Re: Dungeon Party (Kinda Sucks) Post by: schild on February 27, 2009, 02:51:25 PM Oh god, that was the final straw actually. I can't believe I forgot so fast.

Or perhaps "Dragon Age" Title: Re: Dungeon Party (Kinda Sucks) Post by: Hoth on February 27, 2009, 04:07:18 PM Maybe we know two different games named Dungeon Party (http://www.dungeon-party.com/) but the one I'm playing has nothing to do with Diablo.
The game is about competitive PvP, two teams smack each others heads while trying to bring the "treasure" from point A to B on a map. You can choose between 3 classes, each with a unique skillset to choose from. Those classes are pretty standard. Warrior DPS, Rogue Debuffs/DPS and Wizard ranged DPS/Heal. Skills are reset between Maps and can be chosen every time the char get a levelup, this way you can try new builds for your char every game depending on the opposing team. So maybe you want to go for a stunheavy build in matches vs meleeteams or go for manaburn vs dualcaster teams. Quote No Key remapping. No Resolution options. Monsters don't drop loot. Keys can be remapped in the option (who could have thought of that), resolution can be changed there too iirc. Just klick on the cogwheel at the upper side of the screen. Monsters can't drop loot because there are no Items aside a few potions and elixirs and those can be bought via money you gain for winning maps. Quote Runs like a dog. Yeah, can't say anything against this. If anyone is willing to give this game a try and has questions, /tell Hoth. Yeah I know..but at least I try.. I tried 3 times, my only option on the options button was "Exit." Hands off my favourite game, "Isometric Peon Controller". Title: Re: Dungeon Party Post by: Ghambit on February 28, 2009, 07:43:03 AM It does set a new standard in generic game names.
