At least it lets you know to bypass that area I guess.. Do you honestly remember that two weeks from now between 7pm and 11am on a weekend that the on ramp will be closed? Usually the big orange cones, flashing lights and do not enter signs on the actual day are enough for me. If not that, then the workers screaming at me as I careen through the cones and on to their picnic site are enough to make me realize that the road in front of me may be off limits. I can believe that this is a liability issue though, so when someone calls to complain the department can say that they posted a notice months in advance rather than telling the person to fuck off. [/quote] Yes. A ramp down in this city means an extra hour or two on the road (sitting in traffic), depending on what time I'm traveling. I've used those signs and planned around them. That said, usually news radio and TV news does a better job updating road/ramp closings in the mornings. |
