Am I Evil? is a great fucking song.  Also, having practically the entire Master of Puppets album minus Damage, Inc.?  Fuck yeah.

Also Missing (notably):

...And Justice for All
To Live is to Die
Don't Tread on Me
Ride the Lightning
Trapped Under Ice

 :ye_gods:

Two title tracks and miscellaneous awesomeness that most people would appreciate.

No 'The Four Horsemen'?

Fail.

I'd read previously that all of the Death Magnetic songs that are available for download via World Tour would be imported to the Metallica game if you'd bought them, but weren't shipping with it or available to buy otherwise.  So.. yeah.

I don't think they even play those songs in concerts, Sheep and Hawk, so it's no surprise to me to see them missing on the game.

Anyone else burned out on the whole music game thing?  I know I haven't touched Rock Band 2 in months now.

I think this genre has just about run it's course.

Depends on how many of them you've bought during the fad.  I'm still enjoying GH3, which I got for x-mas, but it and the original are the only two I've played.  If I'd been playing 2, 3, World Tour, Rock Band, Rock Band 2 etc I'd have been over it a while ago.

I've been playing RB2 a lot over the last month or so. Before that I played nothing for a month, and before that a little bit of RB1 and GHWT since their .au release.

And before that, nothing at all for most of the year.

Ride the Lightning, The Four Horsemen and Call of Ktulu all list Mustaine on the credits.  I wonder if that mess was just to much to sort through to get them on there?

Foo Fighters? LOL.

Also enough Social Distortion songs. No fun to play.

Big Gulp I like your discussion style. "I don't like playing guitar games anymore => The fad is over". Talking about being egocentric.

I am very much looking forward to the new installment. Also RB will be released for the PS3 at the end of February so I have enough songs going for the next few months, since RB and GH is all I play at the moment.

He's not the only one to suggest such a thing.

No Call of Cthulhu?

Stone Cold Crazy and The Boys are Back in Town?

Huzzah!

Don't think Guitar Hero does instrumentals(or does it?), the virtual singers might have a realisation that the band don't really need him after all and go on an almighty crack and booze spree, but cracking track all the same.

Cliffs of Dover, Jessica, and a few others.

Really, we have Rock Band to blame for this stuff. :awesome_for_real:

Itll be worth it for these songs alone.   I don't play GH a TON anyhow, and skipped 80s, the portables, Aerosmith, and only played a little of friend's Rock Band 1.
(It takes me about a year to actually complete a GH game on Medium.  Ill play it madly for a day, won't touch it for a month, do it again, and repeat.  World Tour having 3 modes I can play means itll take me a long time to complete if ever.  I still have the post credits songs for Lead Guitar on Medium to still play!)

(If 80s didnt get bad reviews I woulda bought it.  Now I am sort of spoiled by the RB/WT star system and its kind of hard to even want to go back.  Even if I LOOOOOVE 80s music.)

I was looking through that list to see how many I can play on guitar and something stuck out: They did a Mercyful Fate medley? Because Fate fucking rocked and was a huge influence on my band.

Also, are those other songs by other artists or songs by other artists covered by metallica? Some good tracks, Albatross is off a great CoC album that got a lot of time in my cd changer in the day, but didn't get much mainstream notice. Ditto Kyuss, I have a crappy bootleg of Tool playing Demon Cleaner with Kyuss' bassist. The song was almost made for Maynard's vocals.

The Merciful Fate medley was on the new disk in the Garage Inc. album.  It's the same place the covers for Turn The Page and Whiskey in the Jar came from.  Some of the other artists are bands they've covered (Seger, Priest, Queen, Thin Lizzy), so you probably get the Metallica versions on the disc, while others are influences or contemporaries (Slayer, Social Distortion, Kyuss).  You probably get that bands version or a facimile of the bands original arrangement like other GH games.

In related news, I stopped playing WoW again recently. I predict that Blizzard will be out of business within 90 days.

Although I like this line up, I could see it getting stale just because it is all the same genre and sound. Just watching some of the widly-widly guitar parts made me want to not play. Seeing as I mostly play drums now I don't know if "boom -bat, boom- bat, boom-bat" for 3 minutes will be fun. Double bass on these songs looks to be fun though.

I just listened to this on youtube a couple weeks ago, and you are exactly 100% correct.

The wife picked this up today at Target along with GHWT and MadWorld since they were running a buy 2 get 1 free deal.

It's pretty much what it is.... GH Metallica.  There's a good amount of old stuff off the first four albums, which is awesome.  The add-on songs are mostly decent too.

I can pretty much only recommend this for a Metallica fan, because their name and sound is all over the thing.  It could only be better if they did some stuff from 'some kind of monster' movie, where you gotta hit the buttons in time with the band crying to their therapist about shit.
