OP OVER! HORRIBLE FC'ING! WAS FUN THOUGH!

What? - Frigate Club is a year old, give or take. Also, we seem to have a lot of new faces both in-game and on the forums and some resubbing. To get the new year rolling and people more acquainted I've decided to FC (:gasp:) a small celebratory frigate op.

Who? - If you are...

...an old beard 0.0 pilot who has forgotten where Jita is...
...an experienced low-sec camper with his face on a billboard...
...a mercenary out of work since CCP won't put in kill contracts...
...a veteran mission runner who browses the forum for something stimulating...
...a bitter Hulk miner wishing Zyd prices would go back up...
...a casual Badger miner still figuring out wth is ice mining...
...a rookie trying to figure out where to get Villard Wheels...
...a random guy pretending too hard to be the above rookie...
...someone who has never played EVE...
...someone who should still have an old account...


... you should come! No prior game experience, sanity, high school degree or socks required. This is purely frigates with different allegiances flying wherever and shooting whoever. The point is to introduce new F13-ners & friends into EVE pew pew, have some fun and if all goes well pull off a diplo-incident to make it even more memorable. At minimum you should watch the following videos for basic info:

Where? - The Empire form-up will be Lower Debyl in the Devoid region. This is going to be the tricky part. While generally our old guard is in 0.0 and everyone else along with newer players are near Empire we're going to have to plan a rendezvous if there's people on the other side of russian bumrape zone wanting to join. All the stations there have cloning, so be sure to set your medical clone if we have to start over after dieing quickly to a gatecamp in the next system or something.

When? - Sunday, 25th of January, 22:00 EVE Time. It's mostly important that everyone who wants to come can make it. God, I'm going to be smacked for talking to my computer for the whole night.

Ships?: Frigate class ships. These include T1 and T2. I'll try and bring some hulls down in an Itty V along with basic modules to make sure everyone has a ship and a decent fit it. Definitely insure them. Post here or PM me on what ship you plan on bringing to help me get a rough estimate.

Assuming I Can get to where we're starting, I'll be there in a Rifter.

Assuming you've just started as a Caldari pilot, the Kestrel (http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Kestrel) packs a punch since it's a missile-only ship, but the Merlin (http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Merlin) supports two turret slots and an extra mid instead. So if you have more missile skills, get a Kestrel, if you're more into Gunnery, fly a Merlin. Alternatively you could train Electronic Warfare for ECM and fly a Griffin (http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Griffin). ECM is the best form of EWAR at the moment, but hardly ah-mah-gawd-imba at low levels. The idea is to break a target's locking capability, and against large ships this is very effective. You'd have to learn about racial jammers and recognize which faction your target's ship belongs to. Or you could just use multispecs. I don't care, really. But if you start liking ECM for PvP, then a Kitsune (http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Kitsune) (T2 ewar frig) is really pro on small gang ops like this.

I will try my best to be there. I'll be in a Merlin... a Merlin with lots of insurance. My char's name is Sularia.

I'll be there on Nerf Blasters or Nerf Frigates, in a horribly fit frig either way.

I'll be there.  I'll probably bring The Groundskeeper for those 5/5/5/5 bonuses, flying an Ishkur.  But if Sir T or someone else is already coming with high leadership skills I might bring whatever is needed, either an inty or a Keres.

I'll also be careful to fit out a couple of remounts nearby for better suicide recovery.

Goddamn I'd resub my EVE account for this if it wasn't the night before I have surgery on my spine.

All implants are lost if you are podded, they can never be removed without being destroyed.

If you need to save them you can jump clone into a different clone without implants, or with cheaper ones.

Do NOT come along on this in your implant clones  :ye_gods:

No, they can only use the focus script.  However, I don't think it's a good idea to take a bunch of fragile T1 cruisers into lowsec unless we can catch a gate camp in the act of ganking something and already aggressed.

Just to clarify: have we determined the type of cake to be had? This appears to be a rigorous endeavor... I would recommend something light, like angel food cake. We certainly don't want cramps!

Sorry I am - despite my connection meaning I have to reconnect every 4 or 5 minutes and the likelihood that I will get probed down and destroyed sooner or later - doing the DG- op right now :(

We had a fairly sad turnout but we still went out and ran around.  We killed one newb ship and his pod.  :oh_i_see:

We actually had a minimum of what I thought would be good. So if this would have been a less hectic day it might have been p. great, I think. We had comm issues. Pred was on EVE Voice, so not hearing the others, and I had to use Push-to-talk, which only works for Ventrilo if I highlight my voice client. It's a mouse driver issue. So I had to back and forth between two programs and that meant I might not have cloaked when I wanted to or my orders were only heard by Pred.

I thought I could FC and scout at the same time, but it's more harder than I thought after you calculate in all the various hiccups. Multitasking lead to a lot of confusion and me acting like a dunce - thinking we were already in high-sec while still one jump out for example. I guess the one person from the FW corp noticed this and buggered off not bothering to say anything. We lost some of our own people after that as well. Also since we had different standings Curse and Catch seemed in reality very blue to us, so we had to leave empty handed (minus the 1 year old guy in a newbie ship). Nerf and Moki kept dropping connection. So Daala suggested going through HED since there had to be something hostile there. This plan and botched method of FCing a handful of people lead to me getting blown up in HED, just close to the Keberz gate. D'oh. I feel so :durr: for somehow getting uncloaked, without even noticing until I was being targeted. I got to feel the effect of warp scramblers on my MWD. -A- Vulture got the killmail, but the Tri guy convoed me and asked for mine. He then told me the gate was clear and let my pod through.

As usual, I learned a lot though. I am really interested in roaming with a Dictor in gang and even though we had one, there wasn't a proper chance to utilize it. Next Frigate Club ops will improve from this, so I thank everyone who came and hope our new pilot(s) got the idea at least. It's sooooo much better with a juicy kill to dot it, but have to skill up as a group to increase the odds of that happening.

Hopefully next time around will be better for me, for some reason Eve kept booting me and I had pressing matters to get to - my car was in pieces in the garage ^_^

So yeah, next time, the girlfriend has even said she wouldn't mind learning how to play so she can tag along, but we'll see how that works out.
