The resulting animated gif, spoiler tag as to not ruin the surprise.  You'll need sound for the video, also note to fast forward you press the RIGHT ARROW KEY as opposed to your right mouse button.  Also there are no other letters on the page except Y and X, and I say awesome a lot for some reason.

Grab VirtualDub from here: http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/)

I have an excuse to not have an animated .gif.  I can't get elfporn anymore!  :drill:

Thanks, much much simpler than what i was doing.

Why is that NSFW?

Anyway, thanks for the tutorial. Too bad I don't have any movies on my comp atm.

I put NSFW just in case. Yeah... hrmm, it's not bad, but it might be good to be caught viewing the GIF by a boss.

We should have a contest.  Let's ask Rasix!

I like how you kick him hard just when he has other major concerns.  Kudos.

I also approve of Ookii's choice of movie segment for the tutorial.  Very funny.

You have a good memory.  I'm not sure schild has anything to give away. He's getting out of this business, you know?

I should do more of these, they also don't take very long to do (like animated GIFs).  Any requests?

Not an animated gif, but if someone can show me how to rip a sound out of an AVI and send it to my PoS Verizon phone for use as a text notification tone, I'd be very pleased.

EDIT: Meant .ogm

If you are trying to demux an OGM file you can try something like this (never tried it myself):

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Other-VIDEO-Tools/OGMDemuxer.shtml

or if you know how to use GraphEdit you can just do with in there.

I'm almost trying to do exactly what Ookii, did, except with audio instead of video.

I KNOW NOTHING!  :awesome_for_real:

sorry

Rather than trying to rip the audio bits out of the source file, I would strongly recommend using this (http://www.applian.com/replay-music/) to just capture the audio while you play it (the free demo will easily have enough recording time for you), then use Audacity to crop it where you want it and output it in whatever format you desire.  As far as getting it on your phone, no idea what format it needs.  I'd go to google.

Anyone got a better prog to rip DVDs with than DVDx.  It keeps crashing without even starting a rip.  Damn program.  :mob: :tantrum:

How do you make a GIF if you just have two images and not a movie?

I use Fireworks. Pretty easy to make animated gifs out of still images.
