Title: The Great Giana Sisters on DS
Post by: nurtsi on December 15, 2008, 09:41:26 AM
IGN (http://ds.ign.com/articles/936/936936p1.html?RSSwhen2008-12-09_113100&RSSid=936936) tells us The Great Giana Sisters on coming on Nintendo DS  :awesome_for_real:

This is a somewhat crazy piece of news, as Nintendo got a bit upset when the game was originally released. The fact that Giana Sisters was a bit similar to a certain game Nintendo had released with an Italian plumber in the lead caused the game to be pulled from the shelves by its publisher Rainbow Arts.

Start humming the theme song until June 2009.

My brother and I played GGS for hours on our Amiga. I liked it better than Mario Bros.

The C64 version is inferior to SMB in almost every way, but it was a fun little game with great music.

Its not my first choice for old Amiga/C64 titles to be brought to modern audiences, but I will buy it.
(Id rather get Gods or Myth if we just stick with sidescrollers.)

Gods was a great title with adaptive difficulty. I keenly remember finishing it without dying AND with collecting the best weapon in the game (spears) that was hard to get.

Ahhhh. Clicking on that link led to all sorts of nostalgia. The music in Giana Sisters is awesome (though this incarnation isn't as good as the original music from the C64).
