Title: Home Audio question
Post by: Chenghiz on December 11, 2008, 07:11:28 PM
My parents are looking for some sort of device that allows my mom to listen to the TV from a distance. She has hearing problems and they watch a lot of movies, so they are looking for something like TV Ears but less AS SEEN ON TV. Anyone know of a way to hook up a wireless headset to a home theatre system?

If your TV isn't hooked up to a receiver with a headphone jack you'll need to get a wireless headphone set that can work with RCA plugs and hook up the audio out on the TV to the transmitter base.

I use these Sony headphones for my daughter so she can watch her children's programs without disturbing the house in the early morning.

They are infrared, so they are very lightweight and do not pick up any RF interference.  Quite nice actually, I have used them quite a bit as well.

I have those too. They are kind of uncomfortable if you have a fat head. I also didn't like the sound quality so much.

Is there a way to get output from both headphones and the speakers?

Yes.

Plug the headphones in to the audio out jack(s) on your tv.
