Title: Cynic Tourdates with Meshuggah headlining
Post by: Fraeg on December 09, 2008, 02:08:56 PM
in the Music 2008 thread there were several people who mentioned Cynic's new album.  so FYI to those that care, here is a list of NA tourdates, Messhuggah and Cynic... if you like this sort of music then you are probably  :rock_hard: :Love_Letters: :hulk_rock: as much as I am right now.  I will be at the feb 4th San Francisco Slim's show.

For those wondering what the hell this is all about:  Meshuggah and Cynic both play a very unique style of metal, if you like Tool, hell even King Crimson, there is a very good chance you will appreciate and/or dig Meshuggah and Cynic.  No youtube linkies cause of the selective nature of my place of works series of tubes.

I must go to this. I've been wanting to see Meshuggah in concert for a long long time.

Good to see Meshuggah are doing better in the US now, one of the best bands out there at the mo. I've never had the pleasure of seeing a headline show from them though, always had 30 - 45 min support slots with the likes of Machine Head etc. When they came on  (they were on first ) in Newport UK you could see people's jaws hitting the floor, this was in 1995 or so and they just keep getting better. The only band that has had a similar effect on me recently was Gojira at Download - heartily recommended listening.  :rimshot:
