Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: schild on November 19, 2004, 12:02:34 AM Who has the regular edition ordered?
Which of you suckers went for the limited edition? Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Trippy on November 19, 2004, 01:18:04 AM I'm getting the CE. I'm a sucker for anything with pandas in it.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: SurfD on November 19, 2004, 02:39:38 AM Wait. Whats so special about the CE?
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Resvrgam on November 19, 2004, 02:40:01 AM After participating in both Stress Tests and the Open(ish) Beta, I actually had a blast with this title and ordered the "Sucker Edition." I'm not a Blizzard fanboy nor do I own any other Blizzard product beyond Diablo 1 & Warcraft 2 but: the guys over at SOE should be taking pointers from Blizzard's promotional dept/art team.
I'm still looking for information to see if I can sell my "Collector's Edition Pet" (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/news/images/04-11/pets.jpg) to someone else (in game, of course) after the game activates it. Post by: Mesozoic on November 19, 2004, 04:02:45 AM Regular. All that was left when I pre-ordered yesterday.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Signe on November 19, 2004, 04:51:09 AM We're getting two copies, one regular and one CE. Righ wanted the book. Neither of us want some pet who will demand food and take up a space in our inventory or bank, so we'll ditch him in the woods somewhere.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Soukyan on November 19, 2004, 05:15:49 AM CE (as I did with EQ2). I'm a sucker for art books.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Fargull on November 19, 2004, 06:09:49 AM Regular edition.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Kageru on November 19, 2004, 06:10:12 AM Just incidentally Signe, while I don't disagree, it's only the hunters combat pets that need feeding. There's no maintenance involved in any of the others as far as I know.

Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: AlteredOne on November 19, 2004, 07:32:51 AM After extensive thought and deliberations with clergy, my wife and I decided for 2 of the regular editions.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: trias_e on November 19, 2004, 09:00:27 AM I'm going to show up at wherever on release day and try to buy the damn game without a pre-order because I'm a lazy bastard.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: MrHat on November 19, 2004, 09:05:34 AM CE, then switched to regular when I realized I just don't care.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: stray on November 19, 2004, 09:15:06 AM Regular. I'm not what the hell I'd do with a Panda or a Warcraft Art book.

Impress the ladies, of course. Edit: Oh, and *I'm* buying the CE. Look out, girls! Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Aslan on November 19, 2004, 09:17:04 AM CE, I am a sucker for a mini diablo, a rather good soundtrack, and ten free days with which to con my little brother into getting his own copy...
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: bhodikhan on November 19, 2004, 10:17:57 AM Well, I've ordered the regular version from EBGames about 14 times and cancelled it 14 times.
I've been playing (the closed beta) for over a year. I think I'm burnt out. I'll play it next year after I've recovered from the trauma inflicted with the durability patch. Is there any hope for an MMORPG addict? "Hi. My name is Bob, and I'm a recovering game addict." Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Paelos on November 19, 2004, 10:31:27 AM Yes, if you've burnt out on a game that hasn't even gone to retail yet, you officially have a problem.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: kaid on November 19, 2004, 11:04:16 AM Well most games tend not to have a somewhat open to the public beta that lasts a full year. I wouldnt be surprised to see a bunch of people who take a break for a good while before actually picking it up in retail.
kaid Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: AOFanboi on November 19, 2004, 11:39:20 AM European edition, whatever that will be, three months or so from now.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Ardent on November 19, 2004, 01:01:56 PM I had the "Blizzard fellatio" edition pre-ordered, but it turns out I'm going to be gone all next week. I didn't want the package sitting on my stoop for four days, so I cancelled the preorder and will stop by the store on my way home from the airport next week and pick it up.
I'm actually a bit relieved that I will miss the raging fiasco of the opening days. If I were home I don't know if I'd be able to control myself. Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Paelos on November 19, 2004, 01:08:37 PM I'm having mine shipped to me to arrive the day after launch in the hopes that the first day retardery will have run its course by the time I dare to log on late Wednesday evening.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: HaemishM on November 19, 2004, 01:14:34 PM If I buy, it'll be the regular edition. CE is for people who have money to piss away on useless shit.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Xanthippe on November 19, 2004, 01:46:23 PM This is the only bonus edition I've ever bought of anything (although my spouse frequently does so with DVDs and CD collections), and one of a handful of preorders I've ever purchased as well.
Some women want clothes; I want a panda. Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Jamiko on November 19, 2004, 01:55:24 PM <-- Has money to piss away on useless shit.
Seriously, I bought the Warcraft 3 Collector's Edition for $20 not too long ago. The art book was great and that is the main reason why I am buying this CE. I don't like the special pets. I also look forward to the "behind the scenes" DVD and the soundtrack. My wife is going to use the 10 day free trial to see if she wants to play as well. Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: sidereal on November 19, 2004, 01:58:31 PM The prospect of being able to kill pandas and zerglings almost makes me want to join a PvP server.
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Paelos on November 19, 2004, 02:08:13 PM I want it for the art book as well, and the CD sountrack is pretty cool. Plus I like the idea of using my DVD-rom for gaming since it includes a copy of that. I'm thinking that means less disks on install, but I'm not 100%. Plus, I'll put the map up on the wall or something and use my mini Lord of Terror pet to dance a merry jig.
Too bad monkey pets weren't an option. Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Morfiend on November 19, 2004, 02:25:29 PM I would like the art book. But for $30 extra, no thanks. I got 2 copies of the regular edition pre ordered. One for me, and one for my girlfriend. (A guy can hope right?)
Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Fargull on November 19, 2004, 02:55:34 PM If you were in the Open Beta, no reason to re-install. It is the release candidate.

I want the art book, the soundtrack, and of course the 10 day free pass to give to my friend whose wife won't let him play because she doesn't want him leaving the DAOC guild she runs. ( I wish I was making that explanation up, more than you'll ever know.) Title: Just wondering for my own fiendish pleasure.... Post by: Phred on November 19, 2004, 04:49:25 PM Regular edition here because I'm a cheap bastard. I started out using Amazon's free shipping option but then changed it because I realized I'd be sitting on my ass for a week while my friends were playing the game.
