Main piont... "The latest World of Warcraft patch introduced new high-level content, including three new boss monsters: Onyxia, Magmadar, and Golemagg the Destroyer. Only the most experienced and well organized guilds can even attempt to defeat these awesome creatures. Do you and your fellow adventurers have what it takes to overcome these three terrors? Then show us! The first guild to defeat these monsters during the Open Beta Test will be able to reserve their World of Warcraft guild name for retail!" While I can not fault the marketing, it just makes me feel this is a look at us you catassing crazies. Title: Holy Cat-Ass to Victory Post by: HaemishM on November 12, 2004, 01:55:48 PM I see Tigole and Furor are now getting the marketing department's ear.
Shame that. Title: Re: Holy Cat-Ass to Victory Post by: MrHat on November 12, 2004, 02:07:44 PM Quote from: Fargull Linkage (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/contests/04-11-raid/) Main piont... Now, having a closed beta group do it shouldn't be a problem at all. Yup Yup Title: Holy Cat-Ass to Victory Post by: bhodikhan on November 12, 2004, 02:32:17 PM I don't think they're going to even get a closed beta group to do that. The populations on the Closed Beta servers are in the double digits these days.
Heck, Blizzard has even sent out e-mails to closed beta testers BEGGING them to go try out the new high-end content. So far I haven't seen much interest. Considering the content you would need a dedicated raid group and they're all playing the OB with their friends. So much for testing the high end content before retail. I would say from that video that at least Onyxia isn't gonna get killed during beta. |
