Title: Memento Post by: Jeff Kelly on October 19, 2008, 02:48:45 PM One of my all time favourite movies. The only movie were we spent two hours discussing it with complete strangers after we watched it.
Title: Re: Memento Post by: Slayerik on October 19, 2008, 06:13:04 PM A definite top 5 for me as well. No movie fucks with time as well as this one, but it a seriously cool way.

Confused the CRAP out of me for about 20 mins and then I got it. Was awesome, love it when films surprise me like that.
Title: Re: Memento Post by: UnSub on October 20, 2008, 09:38:29 AM I love this movie.
Whenever I watch it I get sad that Guy Pearce pisses around his talent so much. Title: Re: Memento Post by: lamaros on October 20, 2008, 10:19:43 AM OMG IT GOES BACKWARDS?!
I think this film is a one trick pony. Watching it the second time was painfuly boring. The Proposition is a much better film with Guy Pearce in it. Title: Re: Memento Post by: Yegolev on October 21, 2008, 09:17:25 AM Definitely a watch-once film.
Title: Re: Memento Post by: Slayerik on October 22, 2008, 07:27:31 AM To me an 'everyone should watch once' film. Some movies aren't that great a second time, but if the first time blew you away it's all gravy.
Title: Re: Memento Post by: Tebonas on October 22, 2008, 11:18:16 PM Indeed, I was blown away the first time I saw it. But after I got the whole picture I realized there wouldn't be anybody to root for the second time. They are all more or less hateable.

Title: Re: Memento Post by: ghost on August 17, 2009, 12:54:10 PM Some people just get it right in a movie or two and then suck otherwise. I was a big, big fan of this movie. It was very well thought out and tricky. I think it is a two time through movie. There is too much going on to catch everything the first time through.
On that point, I still can't really figure out if Leonard is faking his memory loss or not. The deal with the insurance agent and the guy with his wife threw me off a little. The deal with the insurance agent and the guy with his wife threw me off a little. This part is one of the reasons I liked it so much. Contrary to some people, I don't care to have everything neatly explained in a film. Or book. Still don't plan on watching it again. Pearce's foray into Hollywood films left him pretty disenchanted (and he was apparently stoned during a lot of it). Him playing a petty bastard in "The Count of Monte Cristo" was fun though. He's being doing more arthouse movies - "The Proposition", "Til Human Voices Wake Us" and so on.
