Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: WayAbvPar on November 11, 2004, 09:45:30 AM Just a quick thank you to all who have have served to keep this country safe and free over the past 200+ years. I may not always agree where the politicians send you, but I am always behind you 100%, and deeply appreciate the sacrifices you make on my behalf.
Thanks again. Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: Paelos on November 11, 2004, 09:49:06 AM As a grandchild of two surviving WWII vets, I heartily second that thank you and extend it to all those fighting overseas today. Come home safe.
Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: Dark Vengeance on November 11, 2004, 09:57:46 AM I agree 100%. Thank you, veterans. Some say we can't say it enough, but I think we should do our best to try.
AMERICA LOVES YOU AND SUPPORTS YOU! Bring the noise. Cheers............ Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: SirBruce on November 11, 2004, 10:01:36 AM Don't forget our fallen CIA heroes as well:

To those guys and gals out there on the sharp end. I just want to let you know that I know how big a Camel spider can get and I appreciate to no end that it's you out there this time and not me. Give 'em hell. Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: Fargull on November 11, 2004, 10:18:41 AM What Paelos said, though I only have one surviving. My great uncle died on Iwa Jima.
Come home safe. Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: Shannow on November 11, 2004, 10:23:06 AM The Ode.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest we forget. edit: Both my grandfathers fought in ww1 with the 1st AIF. One was injured at Gallipoli, the other for 3 years on the Western Front. On Rememberance Day people wear red poppies that represent those that sprung up all over the mass graves of the Western Front after WWI. In Flanders fields the poppies blow (1) Between the crosses, row on row That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: Ardent on November 11, 2004, 10:38:29 AM My late grandfather also fought in WWII, in the Pacific.
Being a warrior probably one of the most difficult jobs anyone could have, and I admire anyone who has the stones to do it. Enjoy your day of accolades. (Oh, and if my grandfather knew I drove a Japanese car today, he would fuckin' freak.) Title: Happy Veteran's Day Post by: HaemishM on November 11, 2004, 11:21:57 AM My late grandfather, cocksucker though he was after returning, was also a WWII vet.
Thanks to all vets for their service to our country, for doing something I have trouble imagining myself being able to do. Cheers, rest well and know you have my respect. |
