Title: RSS? XML? Post by: Broughden on September 11, 2008, 08:04:04 AM Okay so Im a bit behind in the OS category. Just updated to Windows Vista with my new Lenovo T500.
Anyway I am setting up the news reader in the Sidebar thingy. Everyone I have added thus far is working fine..MSNBC, BBC, Kos, etc. Huffingtonpost.com lists feeds on their websites but for whatever reason it wont download the stories into my reader. The only difference I notice between their feed and all the working ones is that all the other sites is their URL's end in .xml and the Huffington feed doesnt. Anyone know a way to overcome this and get the feed in the Gadget reader? Secondly...anyone suggest any other good feeds and why you think they are worth reading. Title: Re: RSS? XML? Title: Re: RSS? XML? Post by: Broughden on September 11, 2008, 08:07:39 PM What URL you got there sir? http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/huffingtonpost/raw_feed? Yes. All the other links for RSS feeds end in ".xml" and show up in the news reader. The Huffington one doesnt. So I am assuming its due to the lack of recognizable .xml tag? Am I right and can it be bypassed? Or is there a different Gadget news reader I should use? Im not liking Vista thus far. Every time I turn on the computer from hibernation I have to unplug and plug in the cable modem in order to get Vista to start the internet connection again. This is ridiculous. Title: Re: RSS? XML?
