I'm just bragging I guess.  But I love it.  Going from a 19" to 24" screen is pretty overwhelming at first.  Getting used to it though.

It's the LG Flatron (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=211914&om_keycode=85&linkid=j13459594k39085&affiliateid=k39085&mid=).  Anyone else have one and can tell me how ya like it?

Playing COD4 on it is pretty amazing, unfortunately I think it's time to upgrade my Geforce 7950 GT to one of those new ATI cards.

I'm still not used to playing FPS games on my 24 inch monitor after nearly 5 months. My field of vision only sees about 3/4 of it. I guess I should say tunnel instead of field.

Heh, I just got two 22" widescreens yesterday from Amazon for $200 each.  I couldn't pass 'em up at that price.  Going from one 19" & one 17" to two 22"s is pretty fucking awesome.

I still havn't figured out what to do with my 19".  Not sure if it's worth hooking up.

The really nice thing was finally ditching that old 17" CRT monitor.  My new set up takes more horizontal space, but the depth of the surface of my desk has increased one hell of a lot.

Of course, my justification for buying these was my old man talking about how he wanted to get a 19" monitor.  I get a sweet set up, and I get to be a good son!   :awesome_for_real:

I run a 19 inch as my secondary monitor. All of my IM, email, widgets and shit go over there. Along with ventrilo and other shit so I don't need any overlays.

Thats a good idea, however I'm not sure if my 7950 can run that reliably, gotta get that new card.

OR I can do it Big Gulp style and surprised my dad with my 19" monitor so he can replace his 17" CRT.

Big Gulp have you thought of trying to run them side by side but resting vertically? or buying a mount and resting them horizontally but stacked on top of each other?  That might be awesome too.

Hmm...  I don't think ATI allows for those kinds of configurations.  Maybe a third party app?

I duno never tried it.  I'm slowly putting together a new system and weather or not I'm really going to drop a grand on it.  Thinking about a xfire system with two 4850's in it.  Would be my first ATI card.

Or not spending $1,000 just buy 1 4850 and put it in my existing computer.

How's the stand on that thing?  I spent similar $$ on my 24" and my only complaint is what I knew was wrong with it when I bought, the stand has no vertical adjust.  I was going to post pics but I'll wait until I get my entire new rig bought built and running. DMC4 looks good on it though, took me about 3 wks to be able to not feel blind just reading websites on it, but my vision isn't great.

I'm not buying that the LG has a 10000:1 contrast ratio.

$399 at most good retail outlets, including circuit city (Gateway FHD2400). They took out the Faroudja DCDi scaler, that's why it's less than the 2400. The actual monitor is probably better, but without component, it's a dealbreaker for me.

Mount on this thing does suck.  There is no vertical adjust, however the way it's angled and the way my desk/chair height combo works it's fine.  The monitor is huge and it's 1-2 feet away from me,  I can see just fine.

Since we're comparing schwartzes, I have the Samsung 2693 (26").  It's pretty sweet, but it is fucking big when sitting a normal distance from it.  I end up using it mostly for watching Blu Ray or playing PS3 games in 1080p, rather than a day to day monitor.

What cables are you using to do that?

I have the 22" LG Flatron and it's pretty good for a LCD.  I don't have a problem with the stand, either.  Using DVI+ cabling.

Rather than start a new thread I'll ask this question here

I'm planning on gutting my PC.  New motherboard, CPU, PS, Vid Cards, Memory etc, but I'm keeping all of my drives.  When installing Vista over XP will I have to worry about anything using the existing HD?  For some reason I don't expect it to be easy going from 32bit to 64bit.

My advice has always been to unplug all of the non-boot disks before the install.  I wish I had followed my own advice a few times.  I also suggest you not put anything in your C: partition that you want to keep.  Software developers disagree with my stance.

I've got 2 DVD disks and a HD.  Yup I never partitioned my HD for games and OS.  I'm dumb but thats where it is.

HDMI, of course.  The new monitors are pretty sweet, because if you're willing to do the occasional cable switching, you can basically use them for anything.

I have last year's model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005099) of LG 24", it's quite nice. With a full height adjusting base, that even pivots to page-style. I love it. Paired with a cheap mpva Soyo 24" it makes for a lovely desktop.

I currently use my 42" HD TV for my game pleasure. (DVI to HDMI Cable + Audio jack)

My new monitor looks better than my 42" Samsung LCD TV.  I was watching some DVDs on it last night.
