Send player mail to Hegelwulf (my main) and I'll try to log in soon. Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Cheddar on August 29, 2008, 07:26:53 PM Ardovard. Guardian - Hobbit.
This is gonna be my secondary class, never tried one. Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: climbjtree on September 01, 2008, 12:10:59 PM I'm downloading the client. I'll be there shortly-ish.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Tarami on September 01, 2008, 04:07:02 PM I'm sort of delayed here, trying to get a trial key so I can get started and upgrade it to a paid account, but it seems like they've removed the link for acquiring 14-day keys? Atleast I can't find it anymore. :S If anyone happens to have a (US) trial key spare, I'd love if I could have it.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Stormwaltz on September 01, 2008, 05:52:54 PM I still saw it on the front page. Possible it was blocked by some anti-ad software you have installed. Here's a direct link. (http://www.lotro.com/trial/?utm_content=TRY&utm_source=LOTRO_COM&utm_medium=MPU_LOTRO&utm_campaign=TURBINE)
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Mrbloodworth on September 02, 2008, 10:31:15 AM Drop me a line in game when you guys come online. Grimst is the hobbit your looking for to get an invite.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Cheddar on September 03, 2008, 09:54:37 AM Patching client now. I will be rolling up a Champion. Booya. Level 28 Guardian, actually. Still waiting for my Champ to get moved <fuck you Turbine, 24-48 business hours my ass>. If anyone moves over please let us know so we can get you into guild; I am extremely pleased with the friendliness thus far! Oh, and FYI, Brandywine is the SHIT. Great playerbase, lots of people to group with, etc. Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Chinchilla on September 05, 2008, 07:24:49 PM Part of me wants to play and another part remembers how time consuming all of these damn games are. At least in UO I can macro. I remember working up GM Weaponsmith and GM Metalsmith. Hell... I remember how long raids and such took. Even the lower level easy raids like CD and Uru. I loved the lower levels, but as you get higher and higher all these damn games get grindier and grindier.

I am more than willing you help you level, along with everyone in the guild helping each other. I am pretty damn impressed and love these guys! Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Yegolev on September 07, 2008, 12:45:02 PM It crashes my computer, so, uh... I will update you when I get it fixed. Seems to be related to my audio driver.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Yegolev on September 08, 2008, 07:22:17 AM Audio driver update, now I'm level 6. I also learned that I really need to read the manual. This game is pretty different from the release version. I miss a few things! Still fun.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Mrbloodworth on September 08, 2008, 07:43:51 AM We will get you in guild one way or another.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Yegolev on September 08, 2008, 11:13:06 AM Do we both need to be online at the same time, or other voodoo? That would be bothersome.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Bandit on September 08, 2008, 11:14:09 AM Most likely be transfering over a minstrel (20-something) to Brandywine in the next few days
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Mrbloodworth on September 08, 2008, 11:51:52 AM Fantastic, to recap, me i play mostly weekends and Wednesdays. Grimst or Trucegore. I can guild invite then.

Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Tarami on September 10, 2008, 02:51:25 PM I actually got an answer now from CS; it won't let me buy the key from EU, but I -can- subscribe. So, I need a key and just shipping is $30, plus $20 for the box.
If anyone is willing to do me a favour, I'll pay you to a PayPal account or such (in advance) and you'll PM me the retail key. The game itself is downloadable via the trial. It'd save me quite a few bucks, so, pretty please. :-) Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Chinchilla on September 10, 2008, 06:43:23 PM If I could afford to do that I would do that to help you out as I know what its like to want something you can't get that is accessible on a financial level. Tight on cash right now so I can't :(.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Cheddar on September 10, 2008, 07:45:45 PM I could do this; only catch is I would not have time to get the box until Friday, and not sure when I could mail it to you. Of course the key would be instant.
How do you handle the sub fee? Would that just be plastic? I have done this for other European brothers/sisters in the past. :drill: Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Tarami on September 11, 2008, 01:15:22 AM Actually, since LotRO has a digital download, I think you only need my Turbine account details and you can purchase it straight off for one of the trials I've had before, essentially upgrading it to a retail account. That would be $20 flat, plus, uh, "administrative costs". ;-) It's not like there's something on that account worth stealing, anyways!

Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Mrbloodworth on December 01, 2008, 11:32:40 AM Invite sent. Brandywine server!
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Mr_PeaCH on December 01, 2008, 08:28:44 PM so what IS the trick to the reduced subscription rate?
I got a box of original strength LOTRO-SOA mailed to me right around the time that MoM launched; I'm still in my first, free month but expect $15 per after that. Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Der Helm on December 02, 2008, 03:59:30 AM Invite sent. Brandywine server! Worked like a charm. Sadly I won't have much time to play today. :)If I want to level really fast, what would be the class to pick ? What is the warden class like ? They were not there when I played the last time. :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Tarami on December 02, 2008, 04:07:58 AM Level really fast, hunter, obviously. Crazy DPS and travel abilities.
Warden is neat, a combo-based skill system (red, yellow, green in combinations of up to four) that's fairly clever. I like them more than I like rune-keepers atleast. RKs feel a little disjointed and stressful. Wardens got personal travel skills too, so probably pretty good to level in the long haul aswell. Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Mrbloodworth on December 02, 2008, 05:55:08 AM so what IS the trick to the reduced subscription rate? I got a box of original strength LOTRO-SOA mailed to me right around the time that MoM launched; I'm still in my first, free month but expect $15 per after that. Get an invite by a founder, or pay for three months out. The founder thing may be rare, as that was a while ago and i bet every one has given out the keys already. Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Der Helm on December 04, 2008, 12:08:44 PM Ok, Hellfryth - Hunter and Hlem - Guardian. What now ? :drill:

Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Cheddar on December 04, 2008, 07:32:47 PM We need an organizational thread. I will get one up tomorrow; also need to get some basic writeups on starting off.
Title: Re: Brandywine - Cheddar cometh Post by: Yegolev on December 05, 2008, 12:30:39 PM I don't know, I figure if you have any MOG experience then you can do 90% of it out the gate. Then again, since I have sworn off MOG forums (no, really) then I could be missing out on a lot. Somehow I don't think so.
