EVERY MOTHERFUCKER IS A GODDAMN BRIGHT WIZARD. Bunch of goddamn munchkins.

Scratch that. Arch mage. I've seen a total of one other shadow thing.

Schild made it to Rank 7 without realizing he had stances on his character!  :awesome_for_real:

To be fair, he was doing pretty okay prior to that.

Why Arch Mages? Did they do something to buff DPS? I believed your BW sentence though. Been this way for five months. Why change now?

Shadow Warriors are funtastic. And much less likely to get nerfed after release than bright wizards. Though it take them a while o take care of smite clerics in DAoC...

I wound up in a group with schild during a scenario, but I was too shy to say hi.  :ye_gods:

The ironbreaker is fun, although I am so freaking out of practice playing a melee character in PvP it's embarrassing.

That doesn't narrow it down as much as one would think, I've seen a ton of dude rune priests!

I dinked around with a rune priest a little today, they seem alright. I didn't really care for the engineer out of the gate, but I only went to level two before thinking, "You know, I could be leveling my adorable little ironbreaker instead," so for all I know they turn into the most fun class in the history of fun at level three.

Was wondering if that was you as well.  Was in a couple Nordenwatch scenarios with you.  Currently playing a female Archmage named Selindra since I couldn't find a way to make a male that didn't look retarded.  I think I have changed my mind at this point.  Was going to go warrior priest at launch but I think I will stick with the archmage instead.

Rasix - Stonebreaker
Omar - Engineer

Had a rank 7 runepriest on another server before I saw this thread.  None of the order classes are really catching my eye.  Stonebreaker seems useful if not packing a lot of firepower at lower ranks. Runepriest seems sufficiently priestly but with terrible offense.  Engineer seems OK so far, but I've been in far too many PQs where it's just a bunch of engineers and you're either missing the requisite stonebreaker or runepriest.  And most runepriests I've seen haven't quite grasped the concept that you should probably heal the tank, even if he's not in your group.

CTD'd out of Nordenwatch AGAIN. There's something about the bridge between Fortress and Lighthouse - I've CTD'd both times while running after people.

Oh, and Bright Wizards are kinda imba. You know this because they're being played by naked guys.

Bridges! I KNEW there was something about my crashes that I had in common.  Its like in WoW, where the only area in the entire game that would cause me to crash was being on those glass bridges in one of the Netherstorm dungeons (Mechanar, I think).

That bridge is where I crashed once also, only experienced 3 crashes in like... oh, 9 hours of play.

I also rolled a witch hunter, Triaz, because there's no chance of me playing empire at release.

Nothing like running around doing public quests, then realizing you are about to level, going to a scenario to ding.  I need stealth though in PvP.  I die alot.  I am anxiously awaiting rank 10.

Crashes go away (for me) if you set your pve graphics to the highest framerate setting.  It's not as pretty, but a hell of a lot more stable.

For some reasion, i cant get in. Mabye im just dumb, but i got the target box. Put all the keys in, it says i have acesses, and its active. The log in comes up (when i run the client) , i enter my user name and pass, and it just blips for a moment the patcher screen. Then promts me to log in again.

No other error/warning. Just promts for user and pass.

Im confused.

You had to be invited for the 'preview weekend'.  It's another listing outside of the three you have.  This weekend was still limited from what I gather.

Also, yeah... BW are totally imba.  I want to make an alt one that will go AOE spec.  That just sounds like fuuuun.

Definitely going tank though at live.  Sadly, I don't really like the Ironbreaker and the elf tank looks like a tool.  I'll have to pick one and run, I suppose.  I really wish they left the Knight of the Blazing Sun in the game.

Well dam, would have been nice if it had said somthing like that SOMEWHERE on the box, or the launcher, or perhaps on the warhammer website. Nothing i went threw on the website said anything about that. Its was all "WELCOME , enjoy!".  :oh_i_see:

Like Rasix I hit R7 on another server before I noticed this thread.  Thin I'm going FOTM with a BW.. I don't feel like running from elfland to empireland with an archmage.

Eh? You don't need to. Just save up 50 copper, get to the first warcamp and fly to the tier 1 empire area.

Fair point.  I notice a big lack of melee on order side in the scenarios. I'm rerolling Merusk as an Ironbreaker.. never played one and I don't wind-up wearing a dress.

There's an amazing lack of tanks on order side. Also, support. Shadow Warrior, one of the reasons I'm playing it at live, gets great high level support stuff somewhere between mid and endgame. And as one of the few ranged fighters with fantastic roots and slows (even a few good dots), it's a necessary class in a number of RvR areas (and scenarios). Unfortunately, both classes are hideously underplayed. Whereas Destro has ranged and melee all over your face nonstop. /growl. Rant off. Point being, Ironbreaker is apparently great if you're oathbound to someone that doesn't suck nuts, like a priest, another tank, or someone that can do high concentrations of damage to make it seem like their DPS is higher.

Post by: Merusk on August 24, 2008, 07:28:53 AM
Well, TBH the destro tanks are awesome.  Black Ork is fun and the Chosen looks and feels like a badass, not to mention both have a 2H option that does all kinds of sick damage.  So far the Ironbreaker is a "meh" at best and I'm missing the Destro tanks.

And I don't know what happened between last night and today, but Order is getting its ass whupped in the scenarios.  There's one very organized destro group at the r10 Gates scenario that has kicked my ass 500/~50 for the last 8 I've run.

Even if you have no interest in playing, just hop in and fly to Altdorf to help out. Why? Because then you would be AWESOME.

I also had a tier 2 staff from a public quest that is more of a traditional staff, but the head of it is a dwarf head with big helmet horns.

I also had fun, and I <3 <3 <3 lady dwarves in general and lady dwarf ironbreakers in particular. I'm almost certainly going to play one of those as my main in release, although it depends on if Ingmar can make enough puppy dog eyes at me to get me to play a warrior priest with his witch hunter instead.

For the record, she chose that paladin on her own back at WoW release. I only kicked in the whining for expansion leveling!

It's true, I have no one to blame but myself for the paladin main in WoW, at least at first. And now it's like I have a sickness. "Surely THIS time it'll be fun and I will love it!"

Never saw a server queue. Scenarios aren't really queued per se, so much as you're just waiting for another people to join into a scenario for one to start up.

Title: Re: Server for Preview Weekend: Isle of the Dead.
Post by: Miasma on August 26, 2008, 06:41:45 AM
It can take a while to get into a scenario.  I was in a server queue a few times but I think it was a bug, they do exist though.  At one point I heard about this crazy idea that to make the factions equal the population would be capped and queued so that the imbalance wouldn't be too bad, I'm sure that crackpipe idea either never happened or was just a wild rumour.

During the first night of CE beta I was in a 15 minute server queue, never saw it again.

During the end of CE beta the scenario queues were hours long (like I was in queue for a scenario for 4 hours).

During the preview weekend on destruction side the average wait I had for a scenario was 30 to 40 minutes.

Basically your scenario queue is going to depend on how populated your side is and how many people are playing in the tier you currently are.

Title: Re: Server for Preview Weekend: Isle of the Dead.
Post by: schild on August 26, 2008, 09:14:14 AM
Were you in queue for a tier 1 or tier 2 scenario? Also, people stopped playing as much sunday night.
