Title: The rise and fall of Basshunter
Post by: Nonentity on August 20, 2008, 02:21:56 PM
So, we all know Basshunter. The DotA song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9Shor9Bq_g - (for those of you that missed it)

Look at it! He's playing Tiny, they have sound clips, he's busting his rhymes at a LAN party.

He did a song before that called Boten Anna, which was about some girl or bot or something on IRC he liked, but a bunch of people thought he was talking about a boat, and he got super popular making eurotrash songs.

So, here's what I imagine happened.

His PR guys got to him and said 'Look, nobody knows what DotA is. Lets redo the song and music video to not be about a Warcraft 3 map.' This is the result:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXKd7uuehlw

Look at him! He looks like the retarded Swedish version of Trent Reznor! The only remote reference to DotA is 1:17 into the song, where he's like 'fuck this dancing_girl.avi, time to alt tab back into the DOTA LOADING SCREEN JPEG' - and some stupid guy who obviously has never touched a computer in his life pretending to play DotA on a laptop.

You'd be like 'Okay, he screwed it all up. He's mainstream now, but at least he's still repping DotA.'

It doesn't end there.

Cut to May 2008 - Oh, hey, Basshunter is releasing an English album. Should be good, right? WRONG.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l--UJwBFCV0

The song 'All I Ever Wanted'. Doesn't that music sound... familiar? HE RAPED THE DOTA SONG INTO A TERRIBLE THING.

He isn't even in the goddamn music video for more then a second at the end, it's a bunch of tanned assholes circle jerking each other!

FUCK FUCK I AM SO MAD AT YOU BASSHUNTER AAAUGHGHaask;dlqw

Be fair. It was a terrible thing before he added the English to it. Shitty Eurotechno songs about video games makes baby Jesus cry.

Wait. What  are you complaining about? The new DOTA video is better, still has ample DOTA. Hot Chicks. Icemats. You're just complaining to complain!

To be fair though, the original Basshunter Album also had Boten Anna as an English song. He turns his geeky songs into english songs.

Mostly, Nonentity, it sounds like you're not in the know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgFwiCApH7E

GET WITH THE PROGRAM, SOLDIER.

Yes, I have Basshunter in the car and know the album from front to back.

I am being fair! The shitty eurotrash gamer song at least had redeeming schtick value as a gamer song, now it has NOTHING. Now it is a hollow corpse in which to be defiled.

Yes, I know that Boten Anna was turned into a bad english song as well, instead of about an IRC bot - more people are familiar with the DotA song, though, which was the point of my post. D:

Your post was shitty! Your post about your post turned into a song was much better!

You just don't love Basshunter as much as me. I can see that now. You're a heathen. Admit it. HEATHEN HEATHEN

Edit: I'm sorry for judging your post. Only a little though.

That would probably explain why I hadn't heard it until my research yesterday.

This thread reads more like The Rise and Fall of Nonentity imo.

That's pretty awesome being able to say "I like very much to use my penis" in an interview.

Getting caught by your mom in a sex orgy is so much cooler than getting caught masturbating.

So disappointed...

Although, not in the same way as the rest of you though.

I clicked on the title of the thread expecting so see something about the merging of:

Picture is incorrect. Using penis is definitely recommended. In fact, it's required.

The folks at a good, wholesome, American company like Cabela would never recommend penis. Only bullets.

They recommend whatever gets the job done. For Bass Hunter, the proper equipment is obviously penis. And if that don't work, use more penis.
