It's the real thing - Pepsicide (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/3977351.stm)

"If there was any truth in these claims then we would rather be selling our product as a pesticide rather than soft drinks. There is more money in selling pesticides than in selling soft drinks. Their claim smacks of lies. At best it is idle natter."

Uh, nope. Whether or not there is any truth in these claims, Pepsi wouldn't let you sell their product regionally as a pesticide. If they find that there is a global case for selling such a product, they'll make it under a seperate label, and not let it near their soft drinks divisions.

Now I'm off to clean my chrome using some Coca Cola.

There is a huge anti-cola campaign in India that has been going on for a few years now. Apparently Coke/Pepsi/etc has overtaken juice & water in popularity among younger Indians, so there is an organized effort to make up false scientific studies proving that Coke makes your penis fall off and whatnot. Such campaigns are likely funded by juice companies, although I'm not sure.

One of the scarelores on Snopes had a "New Delhi university student" die of "carbon dioxide poisoning" from drinking too much Coke.

I'm guessing this news item is a result of an anti-Pepsi effort.

I have heard that you can destroy your liver through too much caffeine. I've been trying for years with no luck.

I quit caffeine cold-turkey a couple months ago, and I wasn't hit by much of anything. A couple days of headaches and that was it.

I still drink a lot of decaf and decaf-tea, mostly because I like warm liquids. (Insert joke here)

I also don't feel like I have more energy, am more alert, sleep better, less irritable, etc. Basically I've seen no change at all, positive or negative. Maybe that's just me.

Eh, I always love the vanishing needle trick.

All it requires is a glass of coke, and a moderately fine sewing needle.

Put sewing needle in glass of coke, let stand over night, try to find needle in the morning :P

Some pretty fucked up shit we be drinking.

That's why I stopped drinking Coke and other soft drinks. It's water for the rest of the life.

High-sugar high-caffeine drinks play hell with your kidneys and prostate. I quit them years ago, and only occasionally have one with a meal.

In all honesty they need to take thier heads out thier asses. This guy http://www.jerrybaker.com/ uses cola, listerine, tobacco juice etc etc and grows some amazing stuff and no pesticides to worry about with no bugs.

A 2% solution of sugar in water kills nematodes rather well.  It would be cheaper to buy the sugar and mix it yourself, though.

I love the citric acid one.

OMG Coke has acid in it!  I'm drinking lemonade instead.
