Title: Getting a weird IE message at Yahoo news
Post by: Montague on August 14, 2008, 01:02:26 PM
I've gotten a weird error message on IE while browsing a Yahoo news article:

"Sorry, unable to save your preferecens" (sic)

Obviously the misspelling is a big red flag, so instead of clicking ok I ended the IE7 process. Did Yahoo get hacked, or does someone at Microsoft not know how to spell?

I don't get that message.  It just tells me to burn things, like usual.

I got a pop-up the other day that looked a lot like an "IE needs to download blah extension to properly view this web page, click OK" off a domain name misspelling.

Just gotta pay attention.

Or just install firefox.

BTW, I clicked off Yahoo news links, no entering addresses.

Can you link the article?

I got the error on every article I accessed in Yahoo news, but now I've gone through a half dozen articles, including some I'd read previously and no popup. Very strange.

So its an internal Yahoo error, cool thanks Trip. They've already fired one person here for downloading viruses, I like having a job.
