Title: 3D Animation/SFX help Post by: DraconianOne on August 13, 2008, 05:37:13 AM Knowing there's all sorts of knowledge and skills kicking around this board, figured I'd put in a random request:
Does anyone know how to use After Effects (or equivalent) and/or 3D Graphics packages? Title: Re: 3D Animation/SFX help Post by: Trippy on August 13, 2008, 05:38:37 AM It might help if you tell us what you are trying to do.
Title: Re: 3D Animation/SFX help Post by: DraconianOne on August 13, 2008, 06:03:57 AM Yeah, it might. Problem is I'm not sure myself.
Short version: trying to get a short film done by the middle of September. Script is currently in outline phase and I'm starting on pre-production. Obviously it's all very rushed. There is a potentially a requirement for a couple of shots of sfx which will probably be better done as CG rather than working out a practical approach. I have access to Adobe After Effects but have little knowledge on how it works so am looking for someone either to point me in the right direction or be able to offer some sort of assistance (bearing in mind I have no budget but may be able to arrange something in the way of payment of sorts. A token of appreciation if you like.) I'm sorry it's a bit vague - I don't want to get too specific about what the actual effects are but suffice to say it's a little more than lightsabers and/or gunshots. I'd be willing to discuss it offline with someone who may be able to help. Title: Re: 3D Animation/SFX help Post by: Mrbloodworth on August 13, 2008, 06:15:09 AM I use lightwave, and have worked on a few indi moves in the past. Can you please describe the shots, and what its is that is FX about them? Also, if done in 3d, do you have models already? If i cant help you, i know some who can.
More details please. Title: Re: 3D Animation/SFX help Post by: DraconianOne on August 13, 2008, 07:20:36 AM Check your PMs.
