Title: New Atlus Project Announced July30/Aug1

Ok. This could go two ways.

Cat + Moon = Digital Devil Saga.
Yin + Yang + End of Lunar Calendar/New Moon = SMT4.

If this is for the PS3 or 360, I will wet myself.
If this is for the Wii, I think I'm gonna have to throw out a boycott.

I like making a wager with myself.

I want a preorder option, now.

Speaking of prerders: this (http://www.rosenqueen.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=241)

Is this the Atlus/NIS spooge thread?

http://www.atlus.com/persona4/

Also, I don't care what system a Digital Devil game is on, as long as it isn't the Wii or DS.

Speaking of that, here's my email to them about that.

Subject: Blind Box Games? What the hell guys? Insight, please.

Body:Dear Rosenqueen,

I regret to inform you that your Disgaea Honor Student set is trash.
Seriously.

http://www.rosenqueen.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=241

Specifically, this crap: (randomly one of the items below will be included)

# Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice *Original Soundtrack CD* (Japanese
Version: 2 Discs with 37 Songs)
OR
# Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice *Artbook* (Japanese Version: 36 Page in
Full Color)
OR
# Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice *School Flag* (Japanese Version: Featured
as promotional items for the Japanese release)

Standard for the industry - a short, totally incomplete artbook is free
upon preorder - and you know it. The school flag - while a humorous
addition - is worth exactly nothing. And the OST is worth a king's
ransom. As a long time supporter of NISA - and by long time I mean
buying multiple copies of every game for friends and people that I think
could become fans of NISA (despite my getting copies for free as press!)
- I am completely disgusted with making customers gamble for worthwhile
product. For $89.97 there is absolutely NO reason why every Honor
Student set couldn't have all 3 of those products in it. Yes, some NISA
customers are fanatical enough to buy more than one hoping for the best
but do you really want to treat your customers like that? Some people
make it a point of buying directly from you all as to skip the middle
man - specifically, Gamestop. But frankly, this sort of trash lottery
for good product is exactly how you lose customers.

I humbly request that you completely rethink this particular offer. Nay,
I implore that you do so. It is just a crappy, crappy deal. Using the
word 'deal' there made me throw up a little in my mouth. Deadly serious,
who came up with this? Blind boxing a game is dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
It'd be one thing to randomly send out the soundtrack with the regular
version. But this... this is going way too far. I am _insulted_.

Attached is a proxy I will send in my stead since I don't have a picture
of expressing my disgust.

-sig

Uh oh. Lottery? My brain skipped that part. Of course I thought everything was included! WHY FUCK ARE THEY FISHING FOR A HORRIBLE DEATH (randomly one of these: decapitation by unused cd thrown at very high speed, kickage off a major bridge, nullification by multilanguistic insultive barrage)?

That said Schild, I can't believe you write such letters. Nothing wrong with it, in fact I admire you. Still, a part of me can't believe you take the time (and you find it) to write such letters. It's like you perfectly know what they do with it, but want to give humanity a chance anyway. It's philantropy in a way, and I like it.

Thanks to weak dollars (and myself) and strong euros I preordered the D3 thing. 89$ became like 126$ for shipping to Europe which subsequently transformed back into 80€. Thank you Capitalism!

Now, who's up for betting about the random content of my lottery edition? 10 bucks say I am getting the crappy school flag.

I should've used this in retrospect:

PS2?

Really now?

Did the PS3 dev kits fuck their cats or something?

Most people who peer into the inky abyss that is a PS3 dev kit reportedly begin frothing at the mouth and sawing at their wrists within seconds of initial exposure. I imagine that might have something to do with it.

And is there much point making 2-D sprite games for the PS3 when there is a larger user base with PS2s?

Devil Summoner isn't spritey, but your point still stands and I submit it applies to 3D games almost as well.  I'm with Yoru here and I'd think Atlus would make a new Shin Megami Tensei of some sort on the PS3 if they could justify the effort to develop it.

Atlus sent out a teaser in their latest mailer, looks like they're bringing over Poison Pink. Not sure why they renamed it, but I'm kinda stoked. They're finally doing another SRPG that isn't 360 trash.
