Title: Vote or Die (South Park season premiere)
Post by: Triforcer on October 28, 2004, 02:26:02 PM
Overall, I give this episode about a 2 out of 5.  And the only reason it gets two is the Puff Daddy rap video, which is an all-time South Park classic musical bit.  The rest of the episode is garbage- certain not as good as the opening Metrosexual ep last year and nowhere near the 2000 election episode, which ranks in my top 3 eps of all time.

It seems that where S.P. used to wield a scalpel to make a point, now they wield a sledgehammer.  In the Red Hot Catholic Love episode (the best musical bit ever, Catholic Boat) I didn't realize until almost the end the correlation between the literal shit coming from peoples' mouths and talking about atheism.  Now, they just hit you over the head with heavy-handed preaching.  And every other episode is about Butters, which is starting to get overplayed.   Maybe they need to kill off a main char :)

I'll second.  The music vid was good, and the episode had a good point, but the delivery wasn't as humerous as they sometimes are.  Still, nice to have a new episode to watch.

Heh, technically this was a mid season episode, as was "South Park is Gay".

Anyhow: http://www.f13.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1334&start=35

Some discussion already in that thread.

Edit:  As for my views on this episode. It was all good except the PETA part and that largely threw off most of the episode. It would have been better if they had just given it lip service and moved on.
