Title: UFC Action Figures
Post by: HAMMER FRENZY on June 11, 2008, 07:14:23 AM
I am really into MMA and action figures. I heard that Jakks Pacific got the license to make UFC action figures. This could be cool, and could be absolutely lame. On one side, they could make them like the rest of their wrestling figures, in which case these will suck. A lack of articulation and the questionable quality of their sculpts could lead to some horrendous figures to say the least. On the other side, they may make them like their fully articulated wrestling action figures, in which case, you can bet your monkey ass that I would be all over these SOB's. The Idea of having my favorite MMA fighters beating each other silly on my desk is just cool as hell.

So far, they got

Chuck Lidell
Brock Lesner
Michael Bisbing
Antonio Noguiera
Anderson Silva

Not too bad so far.

Now we just need Randy and Rich and I can have rich getting his face smashed in and Randy avenging his loss all on my desk...Wooo woooo...

I googled this up and came across some bobble headed type of figures from Toywiz. Lame. Then saw a Lidell 12" figure and it looked stupid too.

Granted, I don't care about action figures in general, but still, it's just a stupid idea.

Sculptures, otoh, where each fighter is pulling off a trademark move, would be cool. Especially if they went back in time a bit and made some old school guys (the Shams, Gracies, Rutten, Wanderlei, Belfort) when the UFC actually used to be cool ( :oh_i_see:).

Pride Fighting Championship had a whole range of merchandise for the Japanese market, including these neat little "big head" figure keyrings of the fighters. The store on the Japanese site is defunct now, unfortunatley.

Yea, pride had some cool figures in Japan. They had a pretty funny looking Bob Sap toy. Guys a damn monster.
