My Gamertag is Velorath, but there isn't really a consistant time that I'm on (in fact I haven't had time to even try GTA IV's multiplayer yet).

So what do you do in the MP part of GTA4?  Run around and shoot people?  CTF?  Standard stuff?

I'm toying with the idea of buying the game, but a big factor for me in game purchasing these days is online play/competition/co-op. 

Which is I hate Mass Effect, but that's another story.

I am on pretty randomly, but almost daily.

Yeah, actually, because that game screams co-op play.  That game would be an absolute blast to play (much like R6:V2 is) if you could bring a couple buddies with you and play online/run missions together. 

Hell, deathmatch and CTF would be a hoot.

Yeah I found that out when I tried to add you a couple of times back when your gamercard was on your site.

You can add rattran to friends, I'll be playing odd hours due to vacation time.  I've been playing a bit of the free mode mp. Quite fun so far. The co-op stuff looks pretty good for a group of non-asshats.

I'm almost always up for some MP, gamertag Tairnyn. I have had a bad run of idiots on MP lately, such as teammates shooting and blowing up my car and cops n crooks games where half the team just wanders aimlessly. I'd welcome some rational allies!

I have discovered that I can hold my own in deathmatch games- IF auto-aim is on. There is still some skill involved there, but I am hopeless finding targets and holding on them without any aid. I need my mouse  :ye_gods:

Some good fun with Morfiend, Yeg, and Lan.  Been a long time since I had that much fun in any multiplayer game.  The Cops and Crooks stuff was especially good.  I'll probably be on again on Wed. night.

I was actually pretty unimpressed with the story/gameplay of GTA IV until I started playing multiplayer.

There really is nothing like the sound of a rocket flying towards you, its a very "impending doom" sound.

Hopefully we can get even more people on next time just in case we run into another group of 8 or 9 people that wants to play us.

As a general question: what modes are people playing for the most part?  I've had a bitch of a time getting TDM or Turf War games, much less ranked ones (or it's 45min Airport with Sniper Rifles :uhrr:).

I haven't had any problems getting TDM games ever, ranked or no. I would LOVE a 45 minute sniper rifle only game! I can't thumb aim for shit, so that would level the playing field a bit by giving me a bit more time to set up my shot. It is funny- if auto-aim is allowed I am general at or near the top of the kill board every game. Take it off and I plummet. I need a mouse.

I haven't played for a few days, but should be around a bit more in the coming weeks.
