Title: Logged in for first time, didn't see any dwarves, frightened, please help Post by: Triforcer on April 29, 2008, 09:13:41 PM Did the optimum Minmatar build from the stickied link. I DID manage (I think) to start learning something- Learning II. I looked up F13 using the "People and Places" tab, but was unable to figure out how to contact a member. Is this the corp ya'll are in, or is it BAT? And how do I do a /who and send a /tell? I tried multiple things but couldn't figure it out and the rookie channel was too flooded with other questioners. Thanks.

Type in a search string for a name you know from the list of characters hidden here somewhere (http://forums.f13.net/index.php?topic=11653.0) and press search. I would suggest "Justinianus Flavius", which is one of my characters. Then when you get results back, right click on his name, choose to send a message, and insert the text "plz can i has ISK?" to be set up with cash with which to buy, fit and insure a rifter (you should have minmatar frigate III already to fly it). Congratulations: you are now flying the best Pvp frigate in the game, and one which is pretty good for making some cash early on, too.
Do run the tutorial, though. You may not need the cash but it teaches you useful stuff, gives you a few skillbooks that you need and points you in the right direction. This isn't WoW where a new character needs hardly any currency to get by, you are EXTREMELY limited early on by your very slow income. A million isk that one of us can make killing one guy in 0.0 will probably set you up with the best ship and fitting you can use as well as a bunch left over for needed skill books. Yay yer done.

Yay yer done. But don't train the learning skills to the eclusion of everything that will let you have fun and do stuff. Getting 2 free weeks in an ibis while you train learning skills is not much fun. Do you want to PvP? Follow the GF skill suggestions for that (basically, propulsion jamming to III or so and the ability to at least use an afterburner) and you are good to go in our gangs. Sign up for the wardec operation in the Operations subforum (once you get access to the War forum) and show up. But to a new character who can't fly anything worth more than 100K, or kill anything worth more than 10K, it makes the first month a hell of a lot more fun.

Welcome. :) Title: Re: Logged in for first time, didn't see any dwarves, frightened, please help Post by: TheWalrus on May 01, 2008, 06:48:40 AM Also learn memory skills first, then intelligence, then learning, then perception and willpower. I used my free week and a half to train it once I figured out I really liked the game. You may not need the cash but it teaches you useful stuff, gives you a few skillbooks that you need and points you in the right direction. I can't stress this enough. I decided to make another alt, I used the GF wiki to decide on race, gave her a name and logged in. Promptly sent a nice little sum of isk from my main so she could buy skills, ships and modules. Spent the next 30 mins or so buying up stuff and then started the tutorial and the rewards from said 10 part tutorial...skills and ships I had just bought :ye_gods: Title: Re: Logged in for first time, didn't see any dwarves, frightened, please help Post by: Hoax on May 02, 2008, 06:54:14 AM I don't see the part where you joined the "f13" channel and everything became clear and beautiful, where is that part?
