Title: Podcasts (audio and video) Post by: Venkman on April 25, 2008, 05:39:06 AM What's everyone's Podcast list look like? I'm asking here rather than in General as I mostly listen to the video game ones. So I've got the expected EGM, PC Gamer, 1up stuff (*sod* over CGW/GFW), and am just now trying Game Theory. Always looking for others though.

(the ones I listened to were cancelled years ago) Title: Re: Podcasts (audio and video) Post by: Tebonas on April 25, 2008, 06:57:04 AM My current list
Ask A Ninja (perfect for emptying the iphones battery in short bursts when its almost without energy) Bits und So (German technology Podcast) Chaosradio + Chaosradio Express (Podcasts from the Chaos Computer Club, German) Couchpotatoes (Two Germans talking about random things, technology, media, whatever) Digital Planet (BBC Technology Podcast) FM4 Reality Check (Austrian Radio News Podcast) From our own Correspondent (BBC Foreign Correspondents) Games und So (German Games Podcast) NewsPod (BBC News) NPR: Wait Wait Don't Tell me OE1 Journale (Austrian Public Radio News Podcast) Ohrensessel (German DVD and Movie Podcast) Radiotatort (Radio Crime Novels in German) Science in Action (BBC Science Podcast) Stephen Frys Podgram (Don't know if thats active still, I think it was something he just did while he had a broken leg or something) I'd have more, but the day has only so many hours you can ride your bike or clean your flat... Title: Re: Podcasts (audio and video) Post by: naum on April 25, 2008, 09:46:12 AM Don't have any gamer specific podcasts I listen to, but here's my list:
From the Leo Laporte realm: This Week in Tech (TWiT) MacBreak Weekly This Week in Law (law as it relates to tech) This Week in Media (.mp3, Photoshop, Adobe, video, etc.…) FLOSS Weekly (Randal Schwarz is a turd, but good show devoted to F/OSS, past interviews with Ward Cunningham (wiki inventor), SQLite creator, etc.… net@nite (Amber McArthur and Leo do web 2.0) Internet stuff: AudioBerkman (Harvard internet egghead talks on where the internet is going) Science: Brain Science Podcast w/Dr. Ginger Campbell WNYC Radio Lab (very eclectic and entertaining show) News/Politics: Democracy Now Thom Hartmann Bill Moyers Journal (simulcast of PBS TV program, but still good listen) CounterSpin (folks at FAIR) KunstlerCast (the rantings of James Howard Kunstler) MSNBC Keith Olbermann (not the whole program, but typically a 10 minute cut from the show) Media Matters w/Bob McChesney Declare Your Independence w/Ernest Hancock (local libertarian wingnut) CSPAN Q&A (for some reason, this one really tilts to the right, surprising since I would figure that it would be balanced (at least between 'D' and 'R') as it is CSPAN but I'd say 75-80% of guests come from the right…) Economics: Behind the News with Doug Henwood (from the left) EconTalk (from the right, Russ Roberts of Hoover Institute) NPR: This American Life (the "bottom up" version of Fresh Air) Fresh Air w/Terry Gross (lots of interesting interviews) Comedy: Real Time w/Bill Maher (though recently, they stopped putting video up, though audio is mostly OK for this program) Le Show w/Harry Shearer (voice of many Simpsons characters has NPR show that can be hit and miss) Religious (y, I know most of you are anti-Christian…): Woodland Hills Church (Greg Boyd) Title: Re: Podcasts (audio and video) Post by: Jobu on April 25, 2008, 12:46:03 PM Football Weekly from the Guardian (British newspaper) is a pretty awesome European soccer roundup show, if you're into that sort of thing.

Personally I listen to the show because she has interesting guests sometimes, and she frequently has guest hosts. In other words, I like her show in spite of her. Title: Re: Podcasts (audio and video) Post by: Engels on April 25, 2008, 01:15:39 PM Sorta like I used to like Talk of the Nation with Ray Suarez. I liked it despite his 'rightism', so to speak. Well, he wasn't exactly 'right', but cravenly establishment.
