Title: Love Post by: Endie on April 22, 2008, 06:30:53 AM No, it's not some creepy Japanese game. I don't really think I know exactly what it is yet. Nor do I have anything but scepticism as to its chances of commercial success. But I really like the art style, which is surreal, and a welcome move away from the twin paradigms of uncanny-valley realism or WoW-aping conservatism. And the development costs seem kinda manageable (one guy), so long as he really is serious about his limited user-number goals. Nice indie project driven by the right reasoning. I like not being cynical for once.
I'd like to try it out. Edit, d'oh: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=187451 Title: Re: Love Post by: Mrbloodworth on April 22, 2008, 06:33:42 AM Link?

Title: Re: Love Post by: Yoru on April 22, 2008, 07:11:12 AM I like the art style... It makes for very pretty screenshots, but I have to wonder how well it would work in motion.
Title: Re: Love Post by: Jerrith on April 22, 2008, 08:48:16 AM There's at least one movie clip on YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uQDpcsK5Tqo (http://youtube.com/watch?v=uQDpcsK5Tqo). it seems to work fairly well in motion. Here's a link to the main site for it: http://www.quelsolaar.com/love/index.html (http://www.quelsolaar.com/love/index.html)
It can be kinda hard to search for it... Love is a rather common word. Anyways, I've been watching this one, it could be really good. :) Title: Re: Love Post by: Nerf on April 22, 2008, 01:15:48 PM Dear god, he should not be allowed to speak. Ever.
I really hope that the whole .5FPS thing was just the shitty camera too, and the game wasn't actually running that poorly. Aside from that, it looks pretty neat, hopefully someone competant will steal his art ideas. Title: Re: Love Post by: Endie on April 22, 2008, 01:52:30 PM Those were screenshots running as a slideshow. And I'm not a VC, so I'd rather listen to a really passionate developer than a slick marketeer any day.

Title: Re: Love Post by: Jerrith on April 22, 2008, 09:23:06 PM Sorry about that... That link to YouTube was lame... Here's a higher quality (non-slideshow!) version of it... http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/194525.html (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/194525.html)
Warning: Same voice. :) Title: Re: Love Post by: schild on April 22, 2008, 09:25:49 PM Ok.
Looks like Killer 7. Odd choice for something called Love. Title: Re: Love Post by: Draegan on April 23, 2008, 12:01:16 PM That actually looks pretty cool.
