My guild in DDO is trying to get me to come to AoC to try it out, but hopefully the new DDO Module will pop before that happens.

I'm playing EVE sort of. I basically just train skills and do maybe 1-2 missions a week. I haven't had the energy lately to play anything twitchy and I don't have time to play enough to make a strategy game worthwhile. EvE is perfect because missioning is so relaxed on a missile boat; warp in, click on dudes, press function keys, repeat, then warp out once all the red guys are dead. I probably wouldn't play it if I had more time though. Right now I can go "4 days on this skill huh? Cool I don't have to log in for a bit then" but it would drive me mad otherwise.

WOW for the next two weeks, then it expires to save moola. I needs a job-ob-ob. I might hang around some of the free worlds for a while.

Still playing CoH/V, although I'm waiting for my PC to come back from the shop.

When it does, I'll probably be trialling MapleStory for giggles.

Other than that, a few days ago I installed DDO trial to see the "state of the game". DDO is not bad at all, but I grew a temporary allergy to non-original non-outstanding medieval fantasy games. Same happened over the weekend with Fable. Both games stayed on my harddisk for 30-45 minutes before I felt the urge to wipe them out of the system for good.

So it's EVE. Too many qualities, despite the lazy pace, to look elsewhere (in the MMO field) right now.



P.S: I could use a CoH/CoV trial, but looks like there isn't one.

WoW (though I've not logged in for a couple of weeks or so), free trial for LOTRO for another five days,  :nda: and  :nda:.   I doubt I play any MMO for more than a couple of hours every day or so.  It's one of those "meh" stretches I get more and more often lately.

Surprisingly, None. I have played just about everything, and have been waiting for something new in the genre. There are some games i enjoy reading about (Such as LOTRO, fantastic game) but i have not had time to commit to any game recently. That, and most of my MMO buddies are still addicted to there stuff in Wow (I say that , because its not the game they are addicted to, but  rather the shame associated with and time spent in getting gear.)

I am currently playing Extell, and Savage 2, along with some other non-mmo games.

There's nothing else to play right now, so I'm back to WoW.

WoW, Earthen Ring.  I'd have stopped by now but in a moment of madness I bought a six month subscription so I don't have the monthly "why am I still playing this?" question.  I have eight alts in their twenties now, one for each class.  Made one alliance so that I could see their towns and stuff, they really do have much better areas/quests.

I haven't played an MMO since I quit WoW again in December.

CoH/CoV - once per week. I'm in a */rad troller superteam.

Would anyone else find it useful to have the list organized the list by game rather than by player? It's a bit difficult to get an idea of the relative population sizes right now.

Sorry guys, that's just my idea of a joke. You may have heard of Neil Gaiman's  Sandman (graphic novel/comic book). Lucien is a minor character, Dream's librarian. The only books in the library are those the authors never wrote and/or finished; as  completed works, the works only existed in their dreams and thus, in the Dreaming.

It's odd but I always tie those two things together, but then MMOGDEVLAND is the realm of shattered dreams and broken promises.

Usually I login, look at the character select screen and wonder if I want to do dailies or instance with my 70 paladin or 70 warlock, level up my 69 warrior, my 62 hunter, or my 56 paladin (don't ask), or my 26 priest I've gotten fond of lately. Around that time I curse myself for the massive amounts of time I've wasted in this game already and the fact that I don't really enjoy the game anymore, but every time I try almost any other game I quit after several hours and go right back to WoW like a beaten wife with Stockholm Syndrome.

If there's a poster boy for the self-loathing WoW player I'm it.

I took the question at face value, "What ARE you playing". Technically, I'm not playing, this may change tonight...as i feel a need to play a MMOG.

Like an MMO Ticker for a site.  Combine with the top10.  Have people refresh their selections once every other month(other wise be left off).  With enough data points you could graph the fluxuations of MMO through the community.

I just signed up for LOTR a day ago, and so far it's not enthusing me to go beyond the trial.

"Now then young adventurer. I want you to go somewhere in THAT direction (no, I won't mark on your map where, or even give you correct directions) and kill some spiders. Oh, and when you wonder around looking at the crappy map and accidentally kill the light blue mob for the NEXT quest I'll give you with a drop of 1 out of 10 kills for the item you need, I won't want them yet.

And every single trash monster will aggro you on your journey.

I've reached Bree and just got the first quest from Strider. The Prologue quests were ok...but 1/2 of them consisted of "go run over there for 20 minutes and then come back" and the other half needed a group (who then have to trapeze with you half way across the marsh lands before you discover its another 30 minutes before you need a group".

LOTR is driving me back to WOW because I never realized how nice it it to play a game with quests that are balanced, a map you can USE and skills that don't fail to go off 75% of the time. Mabye I need to try DDO?

It ought to be simply a running "what everyone is playing now" thread, updated every couple of weeks.  Anyway, I mentioned this to Cheddar in-game earlier, but I'll post it here anyway.  I'm more than likely cancelling WoW before my next billing and moving my main UO character to the Atlantic shard in the near future.

No regrets regarding WoW.  I got a couple months of fun out of the deal, dinged max-level for the first time, and left behind a character that I can pick up next time I get the diku itch.  As for the shard transfer, I was on either Atlantic or Europa anyway (I don't even remember which) before my old guildmaster decided he wanted to give things a shot again.  But they've guilded/allied a bunch of "sup bro" idiots lately, and I don't feel like sticking around when Atlantic has more people and more RPers.  Yes, I like the RP when it's not stupid.

LotRO, since I already have the Lifelong Subscription I delve into it every few months. April seems to be one of these...

Ok, feeling better about LOTR now I've finished most of the low level Bree quests and started on The barrows. The Old Forest is cool to visit. Signed up for the full game.

Also cancalled Eve. Bob's never going to lose and the game can't handle the lag of alliance combat, and never will. And I'll never have the cash for a cap ship.

Well, Righ and I are playing a little bit of lotro.  I just completed my freebie trial and he just started it.  I'll play for a month, maybe two!  Maybe more if they entice me with awesome gifts and a pony.  We're on a server wot starts with the letter A.  (I have a boo boo on my memory)

The best thing about LOTRO was the music system. It kept me a month longer than I shoulda paid for the game.

Was pretty awesome playing allman brother's "Jessica" on my lute. Super mario bros on the horn. Ultima's "Stones" was very cool, actually had one guy recognize it. My dorf frickin' rocked.

Need to change my entry, for April if thats going to happen. I am currently playing Pirates of the Caribbean online.

I have an EVE account that I'm paying for.  I wouldn't call it "Playing" since I log-in every 6-14 days to change skills.  Seems kinda dumb of me to keep shelling out the money for it.

On the other hand, I can now fly HACs and Battleships, and am really close to fitting T2 med guns.. so ..  .. WHEEEE.

And of course, I'm still plugging away at WOW on a regular basis, since I find it tons more fun.

I wish there was a current mmo that grabbed me. I'm poking about in LotRO a bit (lifetime sub) and playing a bit of Mythos.

I've tried.  Even my hard sell of PotBS was immediately dismissed.  I couldn't get him to try Mythos, either.  He's really hooked and as far as I can tell, both Mortok and Killjoy are well-known names on Crushridge.  I can't beat him so I'll join him.  Until I get sick of it.  I haven't played a game I didn't enjoy since I quit EQ when Luclin was new.

Also, a punch to the dreads is not effective, they are full of clay and metal, possibly glass as well.  You have to go for his puffy jew stomach.

Eh, lifetime sub? what the hell? what convinced you to do that for MMO? I'm really interested in hearing your reasons. As for me I'm not playing any MMO right now, I got burned out with WoW 5 mans and when your guild wants you to heal, you kinda get tired; I can't even remember my account password anyway to reactivate.
I messed around in Dreams of Mirror Online for the mix and match triple-classing flavours that went the direction of Lineage 2 grind; after successfully tweaking a solo-sufficient character I decided to abandon it out of boredom. There's nothing much to play and I never got into any betas so I'm still sufficiently hyped for AoC or WarOnline.

Search is your friend.  We discussed this at great length at the time of the Lotro launch, and no need to end up with mods having to split this thread.  I did the same thing, btw, and haven't regretted it for a second.

I wish I had gone ahead and done a lifetime sub for LOTRO but oh well.  I will be there for Moria and Rohan and Gondor and Mordor and all the other 'dors'.

I've been playing as a straight new character to see how the experience has changed at all and both of them level faster now then they did at launch.

Nothing.  I really wanted to like LOTRO, but it didn't grab me and I left after the free month (February of this year).  Ditto for Eve, which I've dabbled with two or three times over the last year.  Contemplating resubbing to WoW and starting a new class from scratch.

I didn't read the whole thread, does Mythos count?  If not then I'm not playing any MMO at the moment.

I tried to reinstall DAoC just to remind myself that the tales of RVR fun were few and far between and the damn thing refused to patch up... so, WoW continues to be my poison of choice at the moment.

OMG have you played with the current f13 incarnation in eve?  We're doing pretty well, it can be quite fun.  More fun then redoing the WoW nub levels at least, unless your stopping at 19 for BG's.

Active. We get around 30 people on our scheduled ops and no matter what time of day/night you log on there is always a couple of people around because of the good US/Euro spread. The F13 channel in eve is never empty.

Is there going to be a PC version?

Finished my MXO trial; will move on to Maple Story for a week.

So I'm still playing WoW.  I have a level 16 newb twinked out with a few hundred gold, who I just use to run around mining ore and making armor and occasionally doing quests.  The other day in Stormwind there was some guy recruiting for his "Objectivist philosophy" guild.  Naturally, I had to join.  Because let's face it, an Ayn Rand World of Warcraft guild could be the funniest fucking thing that's ever been invented.  Plus my armor is ugly and I wanted a tabard.

Sadly it's called "We the Living" and not "Atlas Pugged".  I'll post if anything really LOLworthy happens, but apparently it's just this guy, his girlfriend, and now me, the first person to join in two weeks of spamming on his part.

My eve account runs out tomorrow! Yay!  :grin:
