Title: The MMOG Pie Post by: Bungee on March 12, 2008, 07:02:14 AM Wonder no more who actually has the biggest piece of the Pie as MMOG Chart (http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart7.html) provides us insight.
Honestly, I thought it would be more WoW and less Linage oO Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: K9 on March 12, 2008, 07:07:42 AM What the hell is Dofus?
edit: Googled it - Dofus (http://www.dofus.co.uk/mmorpg-free.html) I like how they have a banner proudly announcing "Already 6 million players". If that's true then SirBruce's chart is wrong. Or... it could be that Dofus is full of crap, or most likely, both are massively innacurate. Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: Nebu on March 12, 2008, 07:07:46 AM This isn't going to end well.
Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: schild on March 12, 2008, 07:21:54 AM I'm going to try to make "shedaum" a colloquialism. But I'm not sure what definition to give it. Anyone?
Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: K9 on March 12, 2008, 07:22:59 AM Could you put it in a sentence please.
Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: Bungee on March 12, 2008, 07:38:58 AM I like how they have a banner proudly announcing "Already 6 million players". If that's true then SirBruce's chart is wrong. Or... it could be that Dofus is full of crap, or most likely, both are massively innacurate. Maybe the Chart only counts Players, that actually pay for the pleasure of being able to play a particular MMO. And I'm really curious what schild will come up with. "Shadaim" actually is the hebraic word for "breasts". See this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=m8SctyF_XdE) for further explanation Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: Tebonas on March 12, 2008, 07:45:39 AM So that isn't Shazam written in Kurrent? Damnit! :-)

Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: schild on March 12, 2008, 08:23:04 AM Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh It's shadaim.
The cursive made it look like shadaum or shedaum. Whatever. I haven't read cursive since like 1990. Not as interesting anymore. The chart is only counting players with subscriptions.Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: K9 on March 12, 2008, 08:32:14 AM Dofus has both free to play content (very limited) and subscription-only content. The chart is only counting players with subscriptions. Ah, gotcha. I'm still surprised that I'd never heard of this game, if it is the 6th largest MMO out there. I've heard of all the others listed, even Tibia.. Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: schild on March 12, 2008, 08:36:05 AM Dofus could have been such epic awesome.
But it turned out so fucking boring. I've almost bought the art books like 50 times though. Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: WayAbvPar on March 12, 2008, 09:16:23 AM Isn't shedaim the Hebrew word for breasts? I am basing this claim strictly on having seen it on an episode of Coupling, so take that for what it's worth

I haven't read cursive since like 1990. Not as interesting anymore. I'd really like to see your Screen Resolution. I really tried hard to, but couldn't figure out how to get that "i" and "m" to an "um". Especially given the fact you got the "a" right Nevertheless, what really surprised me in that Chart, was the numbers Lineage is able to put on. Even more so Linage is doing better than Lineage 2 oO That sequel must have been able to not only NOT provide enough new features to draw some prequel fans, no it even seems to have failed to even hold on to what the players liked in the prequel. That's like making the Double-Whopper with 1 1/2 Patties and without the salad. Edit: Vertical Creativeness Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: schild on March 12, 2008, 09:24:10 AM 1920x1200.
Hard Cursive is Hard. Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: Mrbloodworth on March 12, 2008, 10:12:05 AM Its the "I" and the "M" having the same leading serif on the post, creating an optical illusion. Its not just schild.

a) Make a game, that is so farm and grind intensive, that i literally takes 10+ people to feed one actually played character (get those Chinese guys in the game) b) Make a game, that is so easy to play and rewarding while consuming a lot of time to accomplish something really meaningful. Either one Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: eldaec on March 12, 2008, 11:10:30 AM I read it as "Shadam!" first time, sounded like something an amatuer magician (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhzBVBZKte4&feature=related) would use to make shit disappear.
Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: Jayce on March 12, 2008, 11:23:48 AM I'm aware that I'm one of the casual scrub section, but I'm curious what constitutes an "actual wow player".

Elitist raiders methinks, that's not all raiders, just the sort of raider who only sees other players as a collection of loot items and who thinks 'casual' is a profanity. Title: Re: The MMOG Pie Post by: Slyfeind on March 12, 2008, 12:57:26 PM I've seen banner ads for Dufos before. Looked like the typical Korean fare. I'm surprised nobody's bashing Bruce yet.
