I have try ed to garden in my life and have been confounded at the proice that local farmers will sell there produce at. But there is one. Only one crop that you need to grow if you can. That crop is sugar snap peas. They eat as snow peas and English peas. No one sells sugar snap peas because if you grow them you eat them , there just that good.

I got so damned tired of beans. Now I wish I had a garden again. I think they are great frozen, cut corn is good too. Nice little chilly snack that won't kill you as fast as most other chilly snacks.
