Title: PBF
Post by: Raging Turtle on January 15, 2008, 10:16:10 AM
Even though this already started in the Achewood thread, in order to get away from some, um, issues, I'm starting this one.

Because http://pbfcomics.com/ (http://pbfcomics.com/) is awesome, and we need to celebrate that fact.  As a family.

The comic that should always be posted first:

And some of my other favorites.  Check out the end of the Achewood thread for some more other good ones.

Both disturbing and funny.

They're not all distrubing... at least in a 'dark' way.

And some are just... odd.

I can post these all day  :drill:

And I don't know if we should do it in this thread or that one, but I actually would kind of like to see a thread devoted to posting the best web comics from any place.  Theres alot of web/print comics I don't read, and am to lazy to dig through the archives for the best ones.  Do it for me! :drill:

I approve of this comic strip. Not the other one.

A bit hit and miss on this one, but the nut strip was goddamn funny.

Just wish it updated more often, feels like some pretty long stretches between new comics sometimes.  :cry2:

Like Haemish said, the strips are hit or miss.  One big thing it has over Achewood though is that each strip is done in 3-4 panels with a minimal amount of dialog, whereas Achewood strips tend to have the same feel as when a bad SNL skit is getting dragged out too long.

Finished reading the archives.  Pretty funneh.  And I dig the changing art styles.

I used to feel they were hit or miss, but I just went back to them the other day and it felt more like 98% hit 2% miss.

I haven't quite figured out why this one makes me lol every damn time I read it, but it does:

You know, I'm feeling the exact same way.  Last time I read through the archives, I felt it was hit or miss (but really funny when it hit).  Now I feel the ratio is pretty similar to yours.  Odd.

Oh, and in honor of Sir Edmund Hillary:

I'm starting to feel this way too. Most of the ones I read yesterday were just ice cream scoops of awesome. I love the "Mittens has peed on the carpet again" strip.

Would it be wrong of me to make that into a .gif avatar?

Only if you mean wrong in the sense of 'totally awesome', as in: I slept with your mother last night, it was sooo wrong.

Awesome, I'll try it out this weekend.

That last panel w/ his stubby little arms stretched out makes me laugh everytime.

Nope. The AI there is far too advanced for an MMOG.

I love this comic, but holy fuck, it takes them weeks between each comic.  Does anybody know why?

Title: Re: PBF
Post by: voodoolily on January 24, 2008, 09:04:30 PM
There's a new one in our free weekly every Thursday, but they might dip from the old ones once in awhile. Also, although this guy is a genius, he finds out sometimes that another comedian has already done the joke and he has to shitcan the cartoon. There's one with a cursed Speak 'N Spell that is brilliant, but Gurewitch found out that Dane Cook had already done that bit, so the PBF won't see the light of day (except for in the back of his book).

Stealing jokes from Dane Cook sounds like karmic justice to me.

But seriously though, it couldn't have been good anyway.

I'm here all week folks.
