I spent five entire minutes looking at some game release calendars on Google Calendar, and the two or three I look at are incomplete.  Google Calendar is pretty neat and I use it personally to coordinate things with the wife, so I'd like to either find or compel someone to make a comprehensive calendar of game releases.  I'd much rather find one I can trust.  Inputs anyone?

Calendar format would be a much better summary.  Forum posts are larger than what is needed for just knowing when, for example, Culdecpt Saga is being released.

I did a search for "schild" in calendars and found "f13.net: Game Release Calendar" but I do not have permissions to view it.  Also, the first couple of hits for "schild" are a tad scary.

I'd put down DVD releases before I'd do BD.  You know... because DVD is still going to be selling an order of magnitutde more than BD for the forseeable future.

Yea.... the number of DVD releases is also absolutely ridiculous.

I don't know that you really need to list either though.  Accurate lists of what's coming out are much easier to find for movies than they are for video games.

I'd rather not have movie clutter in that calendar.  Just a personal preference, but I'd rather it never make game releases harder to see.

I can see your calendar if I just click on the URL.  Perhaps I suck at importing but I've managed it three other times.  I will assume it is my problem for now and shall keep on trying.

I gotta tell you, Smash Bros was considered a "strong" showing this early in the year. But February is huge for the PS3 and 360. This is... well, funny to me. But lame for everyone else.

Why can't they just do things... correctly.

PS2 is going to have a pretty good Feb. as well.  Over a year after the release of the PS3 and Wii and over two years after the release of the 360, and the PS2 is getting exclusives like Nobunaga's Ambition and Innocent Life (plus what's more or less a director's cut of the PSP Twisted Metal game with some "lost levels" that were being designed for TMB2).

March will likely be the PSP's biggest month in the U.S. yet with the release of God of War and FFVII: Crisis Core.

I'll be straight up.

This is a strong year for Sony, despite the lack of strong games for me. The 360 has more I want to play this year, but Sony is hitting like Thor's Hammer with the triple threat of consoles they have at the moment. The DS release schedule is terribly light, this includes Japan. The PSP has been slowly catching on (like FIRE) with the slim version and the new EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS PS2 is only going to help.

By the end of the year I bet we see a sub-$100 new PS2, possibly giving them away with the PS3 instead of dropping the PS3 price more. We'll see more PSP colors to match the DS range, including probably a duotone one that will be hot at shit.

Microsoft will release another skew. Fracture their playerbase more and will not have resolved the Live problems by the time Home and In-Game XMB are dropped while they're hot.

The Wii will sell millions of copies of Wii Fit and no one will give a flying fuck.

PSP needs two analog nubs.

If Sony has decided to sell the PS2, for whatever reason, I'd like to see it upscale like the PS3.  Otherwise, discontinuing the PS3 BC still doesn't make lots of sense.  But, more than it did before I decided they were segregating to sell, like shampoo.

Right now the only game I have to get new is Advance Wars Days of Ruin.

I'd like Smash Brothers, but I don't NEED it.  Besides its gonna be such a huge seller itll be on the shelves for quite a while.

I am mostly done buying games at full price anyhow though.  Money is tight and as I have shown, I have enough unplayed games to get me through 2 years or so.
If we count unfinished and games I want to replay I could miss the rest of this generation of games and systems and still be busy as fuck.

I spent a good 8 hours over the last week playing Master of Orion 2 in Dosbox on my little G5 iMac.   Some games just do not get old.

Will Sony do well this year?  Sony gaming should do ok mostly because of the PS2.  The PSP is even worse off software wise compared to the DS and without its insane install base.
The Wii and 360 should continue on as they have been, with hopefully the Wii developers starting to stop thinking like Schild and using the system for more than crappy minigames.
If nothing else its a CHEAP DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM WITH A BIG INSTALL BASE. 

Between mid-Feb and the end of March, the PSP has Wipeout Pulse, Patapon, God of War, and Crisis Core coming out.  I think it has a much stronger lineup of games releasing in the next few months than the DS has.  After the 1st quarter is over the release schedules for both are a little bit hazy, and there don't seem to be a lot of big games on the horizon for either handheld.

GDC is supposedly where the 360's 2008 lineup is really going to get solidified.  Seems a little odd to wait that long to give people an idea of when everything should be releasing, but whatever.

I have six different calendars on my calendar.google.com page, and I like them all being in the same place.

Hopefully the rumored May 6th release date for Too Human is accurate (although it would probably hurt the game sales-wise to release so close to GTAIV) since I don't see much in March or April (was going to help compile an April list but it's mostly crap with a couple exceptions) so far that interests me.  March would be a great month if I were into portable systems at all (especially since some of the people who have played the review copy of the Ninja Gaiden DS game are gushing over it) or if I had a Wii for Smash Bros..  As it stands, the only thing I'm mildly looking forward to in is The Force Unleashed if it makes it in April, and even then I'm preparing myself for it to be complete shit.

BLAH, pretty much nothing for me to care about in March.

I don't know, Condemned 2 could be pretty good, and I've heard that Army of Two's delay did a lot to improve its quality.  There's also the DLC for Mass Effect, and an Adventure Pack for NWN2.  I might also give Imperium Romanum a look.  Haven't heard much about it, but it releases in Europe in about a week so hopefully there will be some reviews before the game reaches the U.S..

Smash Brothers?

I like the Silent Hill games a lot but I'm not excited about Origins. Dunno why not.

Ninja Gaiden 2 has apparently just been given a June 3rd release date, and Gears of War 2 has been announced and given a Nov. release date (yes, November of this year).

The vids do make it look sick. I played the demo and am firmly in the "ignore it" camp now. It feels like Kane and Lynch controls. In a game thats all about stylish combo killing the controls need to be very tight. I found them imprecise and floaty.

Today seems to bring us Chaos Wars and Baroque for PS2.  Baroque looks like something I must buy, but I am suspicious of Chaos Wars due to Idea Factory's pedigree.  Screens look good but maybe I should just stick with Disgaea.

NISA just announced today that Disgaea 3 will be releasing in August.
