Title: So, mods. Post by: WindupAtheist on December 27, 2007, 06:16:46 PM So I just started back up. I need mods that...
* Hide the XP bar * Hide the floating purple XP numbers upon kills Any suggestions? And what do I do with one once it's downloaded? Every site seems to assume I already know what I'm doing. Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Fordel on December 27, 2007, 07:42:45 PM Pretty much just dump the mods into the addons folder in your wow directory.
Should be Interface/AddOns/ Bunch of "Blizzard UI" folders. Pretty much any mod that isn't ass will at the very least unzip with a directory structure so each mod will end up with it's own folder. Things like WoW Ace have their own up-daters, but I don't have any experience with it myself. Otherwise it's a matter of reading the individual mods instructions, most have a GUI, some don't. -edit- I fail at spelling. Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Der Helm on December 27, 2007, 08:46:36 PM The "Bartender" mod gets rid of the XP bar if you wish so, no idea about the floating XP text.

Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Morfiend on December 28, 2007, 09:36:55 AM As I said in your other thread, get the Ace Downloader. This thing will manage thousands of mods and also let you update install and remove mods. Get Bartender, as its the easiest to use bar mod I believe. Also, I'm sure you will find some others you like in the Ace list.
Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Lum on January 02, 2008, 12:36:55 AM I believe if you install Scrolling Combat Text one of the options is the experience display. I could be wrong. In any event you'll never be able to get rid of the XP spam in your chat window, so your vision of a WoW with no levels and XP is probably a futile one.
Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Azazel on January 02, 2008, 02:46:49 AM xp spam in the chat window? it's as easy as unchecking the boxes.
Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Kail on January 02, 2008, 01:25:44 PM xp spam in the chat window? it's as easy as unchecking the boxes. Personally, I can't find a box for that, and if I uncheck "Enable floating combat text" for the whole shebang, then it still shows the XP gain (as well as the damage done). That said, unless you have eidetic memory, I highly doubt that you're going to be able to know when you're about to level just by mentally adding up "134, 127, 134, 134, 127" over and over again until you get 137,400 or whatever the next level requirement is. Title: Re: So, mods. Post by: Arrrgh on January 03, 2008, 06:57:54 AM I like MikScrollingBattleText. You can turn off exp gains.
